When Declan was about to get up, I pulled on his tie, bringing him closer to me.
I caught a glimpse of Nora clenching her fists and smiled.
I asked Declan, “Back in school, even though we weren’t in the same class, you should have known how Nora bullied me, right? You can try to beg me not to divorce, but the first condition is that you get back all the money you gave her to pay off her debts. Now, make her leave.”
Nora panicked, crying and saying, “Declan, everyone has moments when they’re young and foolish, right? Besides, you know I was just joking with Nora. If she’s upset, I’ll apologize, okay?”

Declan frowned, staring into my eyes, hesitating for a long time before finally saying, “I’m sorry.”
He’s always like this–says he loves me, but when it comes to choices, he always leans towards Nora.
So hypocritical. I slapped him with a smile, cursing him, “Then why pretend to be so damn affectionate just now? You don’t have to apologize; I was just messing with you. Declan, who you love, is none of my business.”
Declan’s expression pained for a moment, then gradually turned cold as he pushed me away.
He walked over to Nora, slowly pulling her into his arms, softly comforting her, “It’s okay, don’t be scared, it’s all my fault, I was talking nonsense. I won’t leave anyone, but I won’t leave you, I promise.”
Nora pounded on his shoulder, crying in grievance but holding onto his neck tightly, not daring to let go. Seeing how scared she was, I felt truly satisfied.
