After we officially announced our divorce, Declan couldn’t shake off the reputation of infidelity.

But he didn’t mind.
As a popular actor and Oscar winner, this scandal barely touched him. People were always willing to forgive him.
He started taking Nora to public events, issuing statements in her defense, and paving her way into acting.
With his wealth and influence, Declan quickly smoothed over these minor issues.
When we crossed paths again, Nora had already starred in a major film and was making a grand return.
I had to attend a senior colleague’s birthday celebration tonight.
As soon as I arrived at the banquet hall, there was Nora, on Declan’s arm, greeting me.
“Nora, it’s been a while.”
“I heard you recently worked on a niche film? Struggling a bit, are we? Why such a decline in your career?”
In front of Declan, Nora always pretended to be so innocent.
She seemed to have forgotten my promise that she would wish for death.
Perhaps she thought I was bluffing since nothing had happened yet.
Aunt Hazel snapped at her, “Miss Nora, please, don’t speak without knowing.”
“Niche doesn’t mean lesser resources. The director has won international awards. You’re just making enemies with such remarks”
Nora’s expression faltered but then she smiled again, leaning against Declan, acting coy. “It doesn’t matter if I offend anyone. My husband’s got my back.”
“We’ve always been like this–me getting into trouble, him cleaning it up. As long as he’s around, I’m not afraid of anything”
I couldn’t be bothered with her. After handing over the gift money and signing my name, I turned to leave. Nora suddenly called out to me,
pulling an invitation from her bag.
“Nora, almost forgot to tell you, Declan and I are getting married in October. Hope you can make it.”
Declan’s brow furrowed, and he cast a glance at her. No one expected me to stop, look at the pink invitation, and accept it with a smile. I spoke to Nora briefly.
“You two kept it well under wraps. I hadn’t heard a thing.”
“Not like when I got married. Your husband insisted on live–streaming it, wanting the whole world to know.”
“Looked glamorous but was a real hassle.”
Seeing Nora’s expression change, I walked away and tossed the invitation into the trash.
Mr. Declan, Miss Nora.
May your wedding be truly unforgettable.
