Ashton’s Point of View
I tried my best to ignore the fact that Kathryn–my mate–was with someone else. right now, but it was impossible.
Frustrated, I pressed harder on the gas, scanning the streets until I spotted a flower shop. I pulled over, my mind racing. I had no idea what Kathryn’s favorite flowers. were, but I couldn’t show up empty- handed.
“A large bouquet of red roses,” I told the florist, hoping it would suffice.
With the bouquet in hand, I drove to a nearby bakery. Again, uncertainty plagued me. I didn’t know her favorite cake flavor either, so I went with a safe choice- chocolate.
Lastly, I stopped at the town market, grabbing an assortment of fresh fruits.

Satisfied that I’d gathered everything, I climbed back into my car and headed for the nearest infirmary. I knew Jethro would bring her there.
After reaching the infirmary’s parking lot, I took a moment to check my phone.
A flood of messages from Tiana greeted me -demanding for answers. I sighed heavily, leaving her on read before shutting off my phone. To silence the world further, I also blocked all mind–links.
Leaning back against the seat, I caught my reflection in the rearview mirror. I ran a hand through my hair, trying to fix it, but frustration boiled over. With a growl, I swung my fist at the mirror, shattering it instantly.
“Fuck it!” I growled, clenching my jaw. “I shouldn’t care this much for an Omega!”
I grabbed a tissue to wipe the blood off my hand, forcing my breathing to steady. Just then, a sharp knock on my car window

snapped me back to reality. I turned my head to see Tiana glaring at me.
I rolled the window down just enough to speak. “What are you doing here?”
“Our team brought injured pack members. here,” Tiana explained, crossing her arms. and raising an eyebrow at me. “I was on my way back to headquarters when I saw your car. Now, care to explain what you’re doing here and why the hell you’ve been ignoring my texts, calls, and mind–links?”
Her eyes burned with anger.
Before I could even muster a reply, her expression shifted. The daggers in her gaze turned into enthusiasm.
Damn. She’d spotted the cake, fruits, and bouquet of roses on my passenger seat.
“Oh my god, Ash! You’re so sweet! I didn’t even tell you I’d be stopping by the infirmary today, and yet here you are, waiting for me. And you even brought me flowers!”

She giggled as she leaned in, her lips. brushing my cheek in a quick kiss.
I sighed heavily, pinching the bridge of my nose. “Those aren’t for you, Tiana,” I said flatly.
“What do you mean? Who else would you get those things for?” Tiana asked as her eyes darted back to the bouquet.
“It’s for Kathryn,” I replied curtly.
Her face twisted with disbelief. “Why would you even-”
“Tiana,” I interrupted her, my patience wearing thin, “stop minding my business and go back to your duty. I don’t have the energy to argue with you right now.”
She glared at me, her eyes glossy with unshed tears.
“You’re making me feel so bad, Ashton! This made me hate my sister even more! I swear to make her pay for this!” She yelled, her voice cracking as she turned on her

heel and stormed away.
I watched her retreating figure disappear before letting out a frustrated sigh. Once she was gone, I got out of the car, gathered everything, and headed toward the infirmary.
After wandering through the corridors for a while, I finally found Kathryn’s room. My heartbeat quickened as I stood outside the door, unsure of what to expect.
To my dismay, when I peeked through the half–open door, I saw Jethro–the healer attending to her.
Why is this man suddenly everywhere?
I knew he was Kathryn’s childhood friend, but since when had they reunited?
My teeth clenched as I watched him feed her, her face lighting up with a soft smile. That smile didn’t sit right with me. She was supposed to be grieving for our son!
Rage consumed me, and without thinking,

I slammed the door shut with a loud bang

caught up in their sweetness to care.
As I made my way back to the parking lot, I spotted a trash can. Without hesitation, I tossed every gift I bought into it.
“You’re a fucking slut, Kathryn!” I yelled, my voice echoing in the empty lot. “Fuck you and your childhood friend!”
“An infirmary isn’t the right place to scream and curse like that, Sir. You’re creating a disturbance and causing panic among the patients. If you’re going through something, we have emotional healers who can help.” A calm voice said from behind
- me.
I turned abruptly, only to find myself face- to–face with Jethro. Without a second thought, I swung my fist and landed a hard punch on his face.
“You’re having a fucking affair with my

mate! Stay away from her, Jethro!” I
shouted. Before he could react, I punched him again, this time leaving a visible bruise on his cheek.
Jethro stumbled back but didn’t retaliate. Instead, he straightened himself, his voice steady. “Ashton, I am a healer. It’s my job to care for wolves in need. Aren’t you aware of the physical and emotional damage you’ve caused Kathryn?”
His words hit like a whip, but my anger only surged. I threw another punch, but this time, Jethro sidestepped it with ease. I lost my balance, stumbling to the ground.
Humiliated, I scrambled to my feet, ready to go at him again.
“Our pack has plenty of healers. I could hire five for Kathryn if I wanted to, and none of them would have to be you! Stay away from her!” I shouted.
Jethro remained composed, brushing off my outburst like it was nothing. “I’m only

doing my job, Ashton. And let me make one thing clear–you don’t have to worry about Kathryn having an affair with me. She would never stoop to your level. Kathryn is not the type of woman to cheat.”
I stepped closer, glaring at him with every ounce of fury I had. “I don’t fucking care, Jethro. I don’t want you or any other wolf getting close to my fated mate. Kathryn’s mine.” My voice was low and menacing.
Jethro didn’t flinch.
He locked eyes with me, unshaken. “Isn’t that a bit absurd? You’re furious because she’s spending time with another wolf. But aren’t you the one having an affair? Not to mention, with her own sister.”
Before I could react to his words, he already grabbed me by the collar.
“Kathryn told me everything. And if you ask me, you’re worse than the stinkiest trash, Ashton.” His voice was cold as ice.
His grip on my collar tightened. “I know it’s
