Chapter 16
Kathryn’s Point of View
Good thing I came prepared.
Reaching into my bag, I pulled out Tiana’s old diary and tossed it at Ashton. “Read it,” I demanded.
“Ashton, see for yourself how my sister has spent years lying, manipulating, and scheming just to have you for herself. She’s so obsessed with you that she’d do anything -anything–to get you. And you naively believed every word she said,” I spat.
Ashton’s glare shifted to Tiana before opening and reading the diary.
I pressed on. “Ashton, with everything she’s written in that diary, don’t you think she’s capable of orchestrating this entire
situation? Ruining my reputation, all so she could keep you?”
Tiana scoffed, her confidence wavering.

“Come on, Ash. Kathryn could’ve easily
faked that diary. Anyone can write something like that.”
I let out a bitter laugh. “Fine. You want more proof?”
I pulled out my phone from my pocket, my hand steady despite the adrenaline
coursing through me. “How about this?” I said, unlocking the screen and playing the recording–the one where Tiana had smugly confronted me, bragging about her lies and the web of manipulation she’d spun to keep Ashton under her thumb.
Ashton’s face paled, his jaw tightening as he listened. The truth, laid bare, was impossible to ignore now.
Tiana’s voice was clear in the recording. There was no escape, no way for her to deny the lies she had spun.
A sense of grim satisfaction washed over me as Ashton’s hand struck her face. She must have realized, in that moment, that

her deceit had finally caught up with her.
“I’m convinced, Tiana,” Ashton growled, his voice icy and menacing. “You had something to do with why Jethro and Kathryn ended up in the basement.” Without warning, he struck her again, this time sending her sprawling to the ground.
Tiana crumpled, tears streaming down her face as she trembled with shame. She broke down, but I wasn’t finished yet.
Two healers stepped in. Their presence cast a silence over the scene, and Tiana’s head snapped up. Her wide, fearful eyes darted between them.
“What’s the matter, Tiana? You look horrified. Do you already know what they’re here to say?” I asked.
I turned to the healers, my voice firm. “Go ahead. Tell them what we’ve discovered.”
One of the healers stepped forward and handed a document to Ashton. Her voice was steady as she began to speak. “Upon

investigation and a series of tests, it has been confirmed that the blood donation you made for Bryan was tampered with. The blood was replaced with pig’s blood.”
The second healer stepped forward, holding out a laptop. “This contains footage. from the infirmary’s cameras. As you’ll see in the video, Tiana–disguised as a healer- was the one who handled your blood donation. That’s why it was delayed for three weeks. During that time, Tiana likely gathered enough pig’s blood to complete the switch.”
Ashton’s face darkened as he watched the video.
Meanwhile, tears streamed down my face, my chest aching as memories of Bryan’s death came flooding back. But I quickly wiped them away, refusing to break.
“And that’s why our son’s death was hastened,” I said, glaring at Tiana. “Your mistress–my sister–is the reason Bryan is dead. If she hadn’t been so selfish, so evil,

there might’ve been a chance he could have survived!”
The room fell silent as Ashton’s anger erupted.
“You’re a murderer, Tiana! A vile, despicable murderer!” Ashton bellowed, his voice trembling with fury. “I despise you! I regret every moment I spent with you, every lie I believed, and I would never -ever–choose someone like you as my
mate!”
Ashton slapped her again before shoving her to the ground.
I stood frozen, unable to believe what I was witnessing–Ashton completely consumed by rage against his so–called eternal beloved.
“No! Ashton, please–please listen to me!” Tiana cried, crawling toward him on her hands and knees. “Everything I did was because I love you! I can’t live without you!”
She reached for him, trying to wrap her

arms around his legs, but Ashton shoved her away with such force that she tumbled to the floor again.
Tiana refused to give up. She staggered to her feet, her face pale and streaked with tears. “Please, Ashton! I’m sorry! Just give me another chance–please forgive me for all my sins!”
“Enough!” Ashton roared, silencing her pleading. His hand struck her again, splitting the corner of her lip. Blood trickled down as she gasped in shock.
Without hesitation, Ashton snatched a sword from one of the warriors‘ belts. He pressed the cold blade against Tiana’s neck. Eyes bloodshot, Tiana skillfully grabbed the sword from Ashton’s hand, yanked my hair, and pressed the blade against my neck.
“Fuck every one of you–especially you, Ashton!” She spat, her voice filled with fury. “I’ve done everything for you,

sacrificed everything just to have you! I fucking trained to be a reputable female warrior just to meet your goddamn standards for a she–wolf! I served you, gave and did everything you wanted, gave myself, and even gave up the last of my dignity, enduring being called a mistress just so I could call you mine–all because I love you! You made me believe that you would always choose me, so I desperately did my best to ensure no one could come between us! But look at you now–ditching me for this goddamn Omega!” She growled, pressing the sword deeper into my neck, making it bleed slightly.
“Tiana-” Ashton started, but was immediately cut off.
“Shut the fuck up, Ashton! You’re a motherfucker! An asshole! You fucking betrayed me!” Tiana screamed, gripping me harder and dragging me backwards.
“Let me go…” I begged, despite knowing it was impossible for her to do so.
Chapter 16
“I can’t allow myself to lose to an Omega!” Tiana hissed desperately. “If I can’t win, then I’ll just kill you!”
“No!” Ashton yelled, trying to step forward to help.
“Stay back, Ashton!” Tiana commanded, her voice fierce. The sword remained pressed against my neck. “One more word, one more move, and I’ll fucking cut
Kathryn’s head off!”
