Chapter 20
Ashton’s Point of View
She was with Jethro.
I knew I shouldn’t, but I approached them anyway. “Kathryn… it’s been so long. What brought you back here?” I asked softly.
She looked me straight in the eye. “I just accompanied Jethro to hand out invitations to his friends and family.”
My brows furrowed. “Invitations for what?”
Jethro handed me one–a beautifully designed piece of delicate paper. His name and Kathryn’s name were written on it.
“It’s an invitation to our wedding and mating ceremony,” Jethro explained. “You’re welcome to come with Alpha Philip if you like.”
A month had passed, and the day of Kathryn’s wedding to Jethro had finally arrived. My father couldn’t attend the

ceremony, but I decided that I would-
though perhaps I’d just watch from a distance.
As I traveled to the Ocean Blue Pack, I carried my jar of letters with me. Along the way, I came across a serene lake and
stopped. I realized there was no point in giving these letters to Kathryn now; she had already found another love.
So, as the breeze stirred the air, I tossed the letters–every one of them except the last- into the lake. I watched them disappear into the water before continuing on my way to their wedding.
Kathryn’s Point of View
Clad in a long, flowing white gown, I slowly walked down the aisle, my heart pounding in my chest.
At the end of it stood Jethro, waiting for me with an eager smile.
I never thought I’d have the chance to experience something so magical, My

entire life, I had been used to being hidden and denied, but Jethro had changed all of that. He proudly showed the world that I was his, that he loved me, and that I was worth everything to him.
I guess the right person truly makes you feel all the right things in life. As for me, Jethro had done so much more than that…
A few minutes had passed since the ceremony ended.
My eyes wandered over the guests we had invited, and at the far corner of the room, I caught sight of Ashton. His gaze was familiar, filled with lingering regret. Yet, beyond that, I could sense a hint of genuine happiness, especially when he smiled as our eyes met.
After the ceremony, Jethro approached me, handing an envelope. “Ashton gave this to me before he left. He asked me to give it to you,” He said calmly.
“Is it okay if I read this?” I asked, seeking

Jethro’s permission. Always understanding, he nodded without hesitation.
I took the envelope from his hand, found a quiet corner of the room, and opened it. Inside was a letter…….
‘I wrote a hundred letters for you—one for each day since you left the pack—but I decided this would be the only one I’d give.
Don’t worry; this time, I won’t beg or force you to come back, nor will I ask for your forgiveness. Over time, though I still regret losing you, I’ve learned to accept
everything. You’re finally happy with someone else, and I’m not the one to take that happiness away.
You deserve every good thing in your life right now, Kathryn, just as I deserve every misfortune I’ve faced. My father decided not to pass the Alpha position to me; he gave it to Beta Austin’s son instead. And just recently, the Moon Goddess appeared in my dream, telling me I would never find another mate because I didn’t know how to

love the one I had.
She was right. I never knew how to love properly. I never knew how to appreciate or care for someone while they were still mine. It’s a lesson I had to learn the hard way, and the regret is a burden I’ll carry forever.
In another life, maybe, you would be my fated mate. And in that life, I promise I will make things right.
Until then, Kathryn…
I will always love you.‘
I took a deep breath after reading
everything Ashton had written. Carefully, I folded the paper back and then burned it with my fire powers, watching as the flames consumed the words and turned them to ash.
Afterward, I walked toward Jethro and he hugged me tightly,

pressuring me for an answer.
“It doesn’t matter,” I replied.
Hearing that, Jethro tightened his embrace, holding me close.
And just like that, five years went by…
Today, we planned a visit to the Fire Heart Pack to honor Bryan’s memory. It was his birthday. As usual, I placed a bouquet of flowers at his tomb and knelt to pray to the Moon Goddess for his soul.
“Thank you for your guidance, Bryan,” I whispered softly. “I still miss you, and just like
you told me in my dream, I’ve lived my life for both of us. You’ll always have a special place in my heart.”
“Why are you crying, Mom?” Asked Liam, my three–year–old pup with Jethro, his big eyes full of concern.
“I’m just missing your brother, Bryan,” I said softly.
“Where is he, Mom?” Liam asked

innocently.
I pointed my finger toward the sky. “He’s up there, guiding us.”
Liam nodded as if he understood, his small face thoughtful. Just then, I felt Jethro’s warm hand on my shoulder, a comforting touch I always cherish.
“You once told me how Bryan wanted to visit the Golden Land Amusement Park,” Jethro said gently. “How about we go there now?”
“Amusement park! Yes!” Liam squealed in excitement as Jethro lifted him onto his shoulders.
I watched them, smiling at my small but happy family. There was nothing more I could ask for. All I needed in life was right here with me.
