Tiffany cried, “Jake, it’s all my fault you lost
your job! But what are we going to do now?” “It’s not your fault. It’s Brittany’s, she’s just
jealous.”
Jake frowned, and then for some reason
L
looked happy, “It’s okay. She’s doing this
because she loves me. So, I don’t blame her.”
Tiffany looked really pissed at that.
“Ugh.” Sarah and I said at the same time.
When they couldn’t find me, they tried to find
me at my workplace.
But I’d already quit the day before.
They didn’t see me for days and stopped
trying.
I stayed at the hotel, keeping an eye on
Tiffany, while selling the house.
The house was in a good location and
someone was interested.
They paid the asking price and moved in
quickly. Once I got the money, I moved into a
small apartment.
After a week of peace, I finally answered
Tiffany’s phone call.
She wanted to meet at a coffee shop.
When I got there, she touched her belly,
<
looking happy, “All the things you did were
because you wanted Jake’s attention.”
“Jake always listens to me. I said that if you
have the hysterectomy and promise to always
love my kid, I’d be generous enough to let him
marry you.”
“That’s so funny!” I sneered, “I told you,
don’t take trash.”
I smiled at her, “I don’t get why you hate me
so much. So much so, that you’re willing to
risk your unborn child’s future to make me
unhappy?”
“And why do you think I’m still hung up on a
two–timing, wishy–washy guy?”
“I’m not going to marry him, Tiffany, and I’m
never going to raise your kid.”
