When she saw me, her smile broadened. “My lovely granddaughter–in–law! Finally, we meet! All these years, I’ve been telling your mother to bring you to me more often so I could see you. Yet, she’s kept you hidden like a precious secret treasure.”
I smiled politely. “My health has never been good. So, I stayed in Mirage to recuperate since I was young.”
Grandma Lambert said, “It’s okay. Once you two are married, Luke will make sure you get proper care. He is leaving on a meditation retreat right now, so I’m afraid he will not be here in the next few days, but after the wedding, he’ll make it up to you.”
