“I only thought that it would be fair if I called your mate here too. Dante told me that we’re all here to make amendments and give necessary apologies. I only felt that Alpha Sebastian, your mate, would need an apology too. Was I not correct?”
Dante stepped forward, holding me by the arm where he whispered, “I said we were here to make amends and not cause any scenes, Jocelyn.”
I tore my hand away from his and turned to everyone sitting at the table. “No, I think that Alpha Sebastian deserves an apology too. Gabriella, you said that your mate was dying and his last wish is to see you with a pup, right? Please tell us why that story doesn’t match with his?”

The tension in the room was building fast and thickening by the second.
Gasps joined the whispers and then and there, I knew that it wasn’t just Gabriella‘ s reputation that had been tainted, Dante‘ s reputation had also been dumped in mud.
“You can’t blame me for doing what I did! You were sick and we have been trying for such a long time. It’s not my fault that you couldn’t get me pregnant?!” Gabriella yelled back, hysterical.
“And the perfect solution was to go to your ex?!”
“Yes! At least I would be having a pup with my beloved!”
She finally admitted it and everywhere went silent until Alpha Sebastian struck again.

Immediately it happened, Dante rushed to Gabriella, pulling the now weeping woman behind him. “Stop! She is pregnant. Hit me, not her!”
“Sure thing, bastard,” Alpha Sebastian spat before landing a blow across Dante‘ s jaw.
It didn’t take long for the two Alphas to get into a full–blown fight as they shifted into their wolves and the logical part of me that wasn’t just watching the entire show unfold in front of me for amusement kept wondering if this issue could possibly lead to a war between packs.
Not wanting to involve myself in the situation any longer, I left the scene, hoping that someone got killed in the
process.
It was only when I got home that I heard that the alphas had been summoned to the elders and that Gabriella was rushed to the

healer due to certain complications with her pregnancy.
Never had I felt so happy hearing negative
news.
A week later, Dante mindlinked me saying,
“I’m ready to break this bind forever. Please, meet me at our old house. I’m ready to accept your rejection.”
His words seemed more than reasonable, so I agreed, but it was only when we met. that I realized that things could never be so easy with Dante.
“I will not allow this rejection unless you beg Gabriella for forgiveness,” he informed me with a prominent scowl on
his face.
