Ben froze. Frank took the opportunity to
punch him in the jaw.
“Ugh…”
Frank stood up, looking down at Ben, whose
eyes were wide with shock.
He said coldly, “Now, take your guys and get
the hell out of my house.”
But Ben jumped up, pushed Frank away, and
ran into the study.
On the desk, there were pictures of me.
In all of them, I was covered in blood. Some

my face.
I looked away.
I knew how bad I looked when I died. An
eyeball hanging out, a huge dent in my
forehead.
It took the medical examiner a while to figure
out who I was.
And Frank just had those pictures on his desk.
I thought, He must have nightmares.

Ben grabbed the photos, like he was
searching for something. He looked at them,
like it was the last thing he’d do.
The corner of a photo got bent from his
strength. He listened to his guy’s report, then
stared at the computer screen.
It was a video of my car crash, two cars
colliding head–on. My car flew through the
air.
It was horrific.
Ben’s eyes were red. His hand, holding the mouse, was shaking. But he watched the
video over and over.

“How did you know…that she got into an
accident?”
Ben’s voice was hoarse.
He probably wondered why Frank knew
something that he didn’t.
Frank sneered, “Didn’t you know? Her last call
was to me.”
“She didn’t have the strength to talk. But she
used all the strength to tell me something.”
“What?” Ben was desperate.
Frank started taking his time.

He enjoyed watching Ben squirm.
“What is it?”
Ben’s glare could kill.
Finally, Frank stopped sneering, and said
blankly, “She said that Chloe killed your
mother.”
“No way.”
Ben shook his head. “It can’t be Chloe. My
mom loved her.”
“Frank, you’re lying.”

“Is this a trick you and Ashley pulled? You
want to help her run away from me?”
“Frank, don’t even think about it. Tell Ashley
