she knew Felicia had sent entry to deliver medicine for Imogen. The medicine was meant to restore Imogen’s eyesight. However, since Imogen was still blind, it was clear she hadn’t taken the treatment.
Felicia’s plan was simple. They would make sure Imogen took the medicine. When the time came, the person who had been kept in the dark would see the trut with her own eyes
But considering that Imogen was still recovering from childbirth, Felicia sighed. “For her health, we’ll wait a couple more days.”
Scarlet nodded in agreement. After all, they had been deceived for so long, so waiting a little longer wouldn’t hurt.
However, even Felicia couldn’t predict how coincidental things would turn out.
That very night, Imogen, who was sleeping soundly, suddenly woke up with a start. Her heart raced, and she thought she heard her baby crying. She threw off the covers and humbed toward the nursery. When she pushed the door open, the sound of her baby crying confirmed her fears.
Caleb was crying so hard his voice was hoarse. Imogen’s heart sank as she anxiously asked, “What’s wrong? Is my baby feeling unwell?”
The nursery was staffed with a nanny and maids specifically assigned to care for the baby.
When they saw Imogen rush in, one of the maids quickly explained, “Ms. Russell, Mr. Caleb has a slight fever. We’ve already called the doctor, and he said it’s nothing serious. He suggested using a bath to reduce the fever.”
“Nothing serious? Then why is he crying so much? Imogen’s anxiety grew as she hurried over. But in her haste, she tripped on a blanket on the floor. She would have fallen if the nanny hadn’t caught her in time.
Imogen steadied herself and reached out to hold the baby. But as soon as the baby was in her arms, his cries grew louder.
“My sweet baby, don’t cry. It’s my fault. I’m here now. Please stop crying.. Imogen’s heart ached. She comforted Caleb, but nothing worked. Even when the doctor was called again to assure her there was no major issue, she still couldn’t rest easy.
A mother always felt what their children were feeling and was filled with guilt when something happened.
Imogen wished she could take Caleb’s place, her heart breaking with every tear Caleb shed. In the end, she couldn’t hold back her own tears.
The nanny stepped in and reminded her, “Ms. Russell, let us take over. The baby’s struggling too much, and since you can’t see, it’s making him more uncomfortable,”
Imogen reluctantly handed Caleb back
As soon as the runny held him, Caleb stopped crying.
At that moment, Imogen was overwhelmed with frustration at her blindness. The longing to regain her sight burned stronger than ever.

Inside the room, Archie woke up abruptly to the sound of her voice. Beside him, Johanna panicked “Oh no, we overslept!”
They had gotten too carried away and completely lost track of time and place!
