Wouldn’t be able to leave?
That sentence carried a heavy implication. Felicia and Maurice exchanged a glance, both ready to press for answers, but before they could, one of the middle–aged women abruptly yanked the young bride aside.
“What nonsense are you spouting?” she scolded, “Hurry up and change out of that gown. I need to adjust the waistline for you!

The young bride obediently responded and disappeared into the house to change
Felicia remained deep in thought about what she had just heard. Did that young lady mean that the villagers wouldn’t let them leave? Or was she implying that the island itself was permanently shrouded in fog, trapping anyone who set foot on it?
If it was the latter, then they could find a way to break free. But if it was the former then the entire village was against them.
she didn’t want to assume the worst, but she wasn’t about to let her guard down either.
That night, when dinner was served, she discreetly tasted a small portion and carefully checked for any sign of poison or tampering. The food was clean.
When it was time to sleep, she remained half awake,alest for any movement. However, nothing happened.
Brearly morning, the fog had silently receded.
The village came alive with the sound of confetti cannons. The pungent scent of smoke filled the residence as the wedding festivities began in full swing.
Guests bustled in and out, the entire village immersed in lively chatter and joyful celebration
Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention, Felicia pulled Maurice aside, and they made their way toward the village entrance. Underneath a large banyan tree near the outskirts, the rest of Stephan’s men were already waiting for themn.
The bad news? There was still no sign of Stephan or the four men who had gone after him. No one had seen or heard anything
The good news? Two of their men had managed to gather information from the villagers they were staying with. They had learned that the venomous creature they needed could be found in a valley to the east
The locals never ventured there. They said it was dangerous, and those who entered never retamed.
The Villagers also warned them that if they insisted on going, they should never go alone. Almost all who went in alone never came back.
Felicia didn’t even need to think about it. She was going and she was bringing Maurice with her.
The sooner they dealt with the venomous creature, the sooner she could focus entirely on finding Stephan.
Before departing she ordered the rest of Stephan’s men to continue searching in pairs or small teams, following the same method they had been using. By sundown, everyone had to return to the village, ensuring their own safety while seeking any sign of Stephan
If they found him, it would be time to leave this island.

given, the men responded in unison,
“Let’s not waste time. Move out,” Felicia commanded.
As the group dispersed, Felicia, Maurice, and a few of Maurice’s subordinates headed cast toward the val
The villagers had warned them of the dangers, so they stayed cautious
Felicia double–checked their supplies–weapons, medicine, everything necessary for survival, Maurice’s men were also armed with guns, ensuring that even if they encountered wild beasts, they could fight back

It wasn’t long before they reached the valley. The landscape was overgrown and thick with weeds, making it difficult to traverse. The environment was indeed a p ground for venomous creatures
Felicia moved carefully as she scanned the area. Whether it was because of their good luck or because the place was teeming with venomous creatures, Felicia quickly spotted one. It was a venomous creature of the same species as the one inside Maurice!
“Shh! Don’t move,” Felicia whispered
She took out a small container, gave Maurice a signal, and then made her way toward the venomous creature
Just as she was about to make her move, a piercing stream erupted from the nearby undergrowth.
The scream startled the venomous creature, which quickly retreated back into a hole in the nearby tree, disappearing from sight
