Seeing that he refused to communicate, Amelia sighed and relented. Alright, let’s eat first.”

Hannah paused, surprised. “Believe me?”
Ethan hugged her tightly, his expression serious.
“I believe you’re the one who funded that lady.”
Warmth spread through Hannah’s heart. She gently ruffled his hair. “Why?”
Ethan straightened his back, his face determined.
“Because something that important–Mom wouldn’t lie about it!”
Hannah was caught off guard.

Ethan nodded firmly. “When I was at the orphanage, many kind people came to visit us. They were all good people, just like you, Mom!”

Hannah smiled, deeply comforted.
She had once feared that Taylor’s relatives might try to take Ethan away.
But now that she knew his real background, she felt a strange sense of relief.
Only now did she realize-
It wasn’t Ethan who couldn’t live without her.
It was her who couldn’t live without him.
When they got home, a feeling stirred within her. She painted a portrait of herself and Ethan together an hung it in their home.
After putting Ethan to sleep, she focused on her design work.
The next morning, after submitting her final drafts to Audrey, she received her first official compliment since joining Whitmore Group.
Audrey even held a department meeting, using Hannah’s designs as the standard for others to follow. She had only been here for a few days, yet she was alrely being praised so highly–naturally, it attracted lot of jealous stares
But Hannah didn’t care. She simply thanked Audrey and requested leave.
“My son’s preschool is having a parent–child sports event. I promised bin I’d be there,”
Audrey upped through her planner.

Hannah hesitated. “But I-
“Don’t refuse. You’re talented, and talent should be rewarded. Besides, the CEO has a good impression of you. You’ll also be in charge of designing the new golf club lounge,”
Hannah’s eyes widened.
“Audrey, I do want to prove myself and gain recognition, but that project is huge. I can’t handle it alone.”
.Audrey smiled knowingly.
“Then choose a team to work with you.”
Hannah could hardly believe it. “I get to choose?”
“That’s right. But be careful–if any of your team members mess up, I won’t go easy on them.”
Hannah didn’t hesitate any longer. She quickly selected a few teammates.
Audrey immediately announced it to the department. Those chosen were people Hannah got along with. Meanwhile, those who had mocked her before were left kicking themselves in regret.
With this, Hannah had officially secured her place at Whitmore Group.
At a restaurant across from Ford Group, Rebecca sat across from Christian, repeatedly reminding him that her birthday was coming up.
Christian paused, then signaled his assistant to retrieve a diamond necklace from the car.
