Q3
Lillian stormed off, throwing me one last bitter glare before she left.
I couldn’t care less and pretended not to notice.
“The floor in cold”
I reached out to help “Clara,” or “Lachlan,” who still seemed frozen in shock
“You’re Clara, aren’t you? What the hell is going on here?!”
Lachlan had clearly figured me out and grabbed my arm, asking frantically.
I gestured for him to calm down, dismissed all the servants, and led him into the private
room
“I have no idea what happened either. All I know is I woke up and suddenly I was you. could even process it, I was summoned here.”
I told him the honest truth.
Before I
Lachlan’s face darkened with worry, and he was clearly freaking out. “What are we going to do? How can we switch back?!”
“Lachlan, we should take this one step at a time. It’s best not to tell anyone yet.”
“Why not?”
Lachlan couldn’t understand my suggestion.
I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at him, trying to control my emotions.
“Think about it, the current emperor absolutely hates any talk of supernatural nonsense. If people found out about our mysterious switch, do you think we’d have any chance of survival? Besides, our situation is strange enough already! What if we suddenly switch back on our own? Wouldn’t all this fuss be pointless?”
I was feeding Lachlan this impressive–sounding logic.
But truthfully, I had my own hidden agenda.
Whenever I was bullied in the past, Lachlan always thought it was no big deal.
Lillian was sweet and kind in his eyes. There wasn’t another person like her.
If that was how he felt, I’d let him personally experience some of that “sweetness and
kindness” from her.
Why am I getting a little excited about this?
Actually, I had already planned to divorce Lachlan
Who would’ve thought that before ending our marriage, I’d get this chance for payback? The heavens must be on my side.
I was definitely going to make the most of this opportunity!
“Lachlan, to keep our secret safe, we should spend more time together. Starting today. I’ll be moving into the Main House.”
I needed to provoke her to speed up exposing Lillian’s true nature!
This first move of living together was designed to make her jealous!
“That’s a good idea, especially since we’re acting differently than before. If we spend too
“That’s a good idea, especially since we’re acting differently than before. If we spend too much time alone with others, someone might figure us out. With you around, we can cover for each other and probably got away with it. But this situation with Lily… it might be hard to explain.”
Lachlan paused hesitantly after speaking.
Theld back the urge to smack him upside the head and kept my expression calm and
collected
“You and Lillian are deeply in love, so a brief separation won’t affect your feelings. Besides, aren’t we doing this to protect her? I’m sure you’ve already learned your lesson from what just happened.”
I was referring to Lillian’s recent behavior.
Sure enough, Lachlan picked up on it, looking completely puzzled.
“Yeah, I’m confused too. I didn’t do anything wrong, so why did Lily send that old maid to hit me? She usually speaks so softly that her voice barely rises above a whisper. How did she suddenly become so aggressive? I barely recognized her.”
Lachlan was deep in thought.
1 laughed coldly to myself.
Aggressive? He hadn’t seen anything yet, so he waited and saw what would come.
“Maybe it’s because you’re used to bullying Lily, so when she saw you, she became someone completely different!”
me!”
Lachlan thought for a long time before reaching this conclusion.
My expression visibly darkened, my fists clenching.
Well, love–struck idiots would never change!
“Why don’t I just come clean with Lily? Then she won’t have panic attacks whenever she sees
Hearing his ridiculous suggestion, I let out a cold laugh.
“Sure, go ahead if you want to end up burned at the stake as a monster.”
“What do you mean?” Lachlan frowned.
His face seemed to say, “What nonsense are you talking about? Lily is so sweet. She’d definitely keep my secret!”
“Lachlan, I know Lilian is obedient and kind. But that’s exactly why others might take
advantage of her to set you up. If you really get burned alive, how is she supposed to live with that guilt, don’t you think?”
I said with sarcastic sweetness.
Unfortunately, Lachlan missed my tone completely and nodded vigorously in agreement.
“Yes, yes, you’re right. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I can’t tell anyone, not a single person.”
That was more like it.
This saved me from Lillian learning the truth and plotting against me.
I smiled secretly, like a hunter stalking prey in the dark!
“Lachlan, didn’t you just say I was bullying Lilian and making her afraid? While you’re still inside my body, why don’t you be extra nice to her to make up for my past mistakes?”

“Yes, yes, you’re right. I wasn’t thinking clearly. I can’t tell anyone, not a single person.”
That was more like it.
This saved me from Lillian learning the truth and platting against me.
I smiled secretly, like a hunter stalking prey in the dark
“Lachlan, didn’t you just say I was bullying Lillian and making her afraid? While you’re still inside my body, why don’t you be extra nice to her to make up for my post mistakes?”
“Are you serious?”
Lachlan looked surprised by my sincere tone.
“Dead serious, I swear!”
I was lying through my teeth!
I knew precisely what Lillian was like!
If Lachlan tried to be nice to her, she would think he was plotting against her!
So she would hit back at him even more complexly and more fiercely!
Just picturing it made me so happy. I couldn’t wait to see how this plays out!
