Ever since learning I’d moved Into The Main House, Lillian threw a massive tantrum.
She smashed three crystal goblets, which cost a fortune.
“Sir, Ms. Blackwood says she’s feeling unwell and would like you to check on her, Grose Perry,
Lillian’s maid, informed me.
“Not going.” I replied without looking up.
“But Ms. Blackwood is terribly ill. She’s fainted several times already,” Grace continued pleading, on the verge of tears.
“If she’s sick, call a doctor. Why ask for me? I’m not a physician,” I snapped impatiently, slamming my book down.
I knew that the more I kept her waiting, the more restless Lillian would become.
Sure enough, just as I finished speaking, Lillian entered the room with servants supporting her, looking as fragile as a willow in the wind.
*Grace, what nonsense are you talking about! The master is swamped with business affairs.
How could you disturb him over my little ailment?” she said.
Lillian looked deathly pale, like a withered flower after rain, bowing to me weakly with tear
stains still fresh on her face.
full!
*But Ms. Blackwood, you were coughing up blood…”
“Silence!”
She snapped at Grace, then broke into a fit of coughing.
Afterward, she gazed at me timidly, her eyes innocent and pitiful.
“Lachie, I’m fine, don’t listen to this girl’s nonsense…
I watched her performance coldly, old hatred rising in my heart.
But it didn’t matter. Since fate had given me this opportunity, I would pay back everything in
“If you’re fine, why are you still standing here?”
I glanced sideways at Lillian.
Then I pointed at the maid from earlier.
“Sold her off. I won’t keep anyone at Thorpe Estate who dares to lie in front of their master.”
“Lachie!”
Lillian was stunned. In just one day, she had lost two of her trusted servants. How could she
bear it?
And now she was putting on another act!
“Lochie, what’s wrong with you? Did someone tell you something…?”
ᄆ
She deliberately emphasized “someone,” and her insinuation couldn’t be more obvious.
“Oh Lachie, if you’re disgusted with Lily, I can just leave. You don’t need to make things difficult by avoiding me and selling off the maids.”
23:48 Fri, 14 Mar
Lillian’s hot tears rolled down her chooks as she clutched her chost, feeling like she was
about to shatter completely.
“I was the one who foolishly misread the situation, shamelessly running to find you back then. Everyone knows a properly courted woman becomes a wife, while one who pursues becomes merely a mistress. From the very beginning, I could never measure up to Clara… But what can I do? My heart belongs to you. I love you so deeply that I can’t pull myself free. Originally, my father had arranged for me to be someone’s proper wife, but you were in my heart. Even if it meant being a mistress… I accepted it, just to stay by your side. But now. oh
God….”
Lillian’s accusations poured out betwoon sobs, her face a tearful moss.
I watched her with a face that said, “I’m learning something here,” fighting the urge to give
her a thumbs up.
This emotional manipulation was genuinely next level!
“Lily was once ready to die for you, Lachie. Now that you find Lily repulsive and don’t want me anymore…. Lily might as well die and spare everyone the inconvenience of having to look at her!”
With those words, Lillian lunged toward a pillar, ready to smash her head.
The servants nearby couldn’t hold her back.
I watched coldly from the sidelines, not saying a word, even casually sipping my coffee.
Seeing that I wasn’t taking the bait, Lillian grew anxious; her voice was usually affected, and
she was beginning to change pitch.
“Lachi….. are you really being this heartless?!”
“It’s not that I’m being heartless, it’s just that these past few days, I’ve suddenly realized
something.”
Seeing that the timing was right, I began to advance my plan.
“You know, as they say, rules are what keep things in order. Although you certainly have deep
feelings for me, Lily, Clara has also been my companion and confidant, and she is my lawfully wedded wife. Since you arrived at the estate, I’ve admittedly caused Clara a lot of pain. Everyone knows I’ve favored my mistress over my wife, and I’ve felt guilty about it. So starting today, I plan to live in the Main House to make it up to Clara. Lily, since you love me so much, you’ll surely support me and understand, right?”
I began to put Lillian on a pedestal, emotionally manipulating her.
Despite her thousand unwilling thoughts, she still wore a smile.
“Of course… Lily will always be of one mind with Lachie.”
The words “of one mind” were spoken with something close to gritted teeth.
I fell silent for a moment, then continued with feigned hesitation.
“Actually, today I discovered something else…”
“What is it?”
Lillian was already quite irritated with me today. Despite her efforts to hide tone had already betrayed her.

Lillian was already quite irritated with me today. Despite her efforts to hide it, her impatient tone had already betrayed her.
“I realized that I still have strong feelings for Clara. When I saw her today, my heart was
racing uncontrollably!”
I deliberately provoked Lillian
Sure enough, her face twisted with jealousy. “Lachie, don’t you love me anymore?”
“I do love you. But you know, Clara is still my wife, so I should give her more attention. And also, I’ve wronged Clara in the past. Now I want to make it up to her. Lily, you’re always full of ideas. Can you help me come up with some ways to win her over?”
My statements became increasingly outrageous.
Lillian’s expression grew darker and darker.
After all, asking her to devise ways to please her rival in love? That was probably mare
painful than killing her!
“Lachie, I’m not feeling well. I’m going home now.
Lillian stormed off, unwilling to stay a moment longer.
Before she left, I heard her cold and vicious voice, quiet but precise.
You think you’re so clever, Clara, trying to rekindle an old flame. You dare to seduce my
man? Just you wait….
age!
Oh really? Old flame? Her man? She still couldn’t tell who the wife and the mistress were.
Besides, Lillian was actually a year older than me. She had some nerves talking about her.
