“Selene, what’s wrong with Lachie…”
Lillian slumped down at the table in shock, her hands clenched into fists, her body trembling
slightly.
Why?
Why didn’t Lachie help her this time?
In the past, whenever she pouted and acted cute, Lachie would always take her side, regardless of the truth!
he list gave he
But this time, a cold glance, then took Clara’s hand and left without saying a single word from start to finish!
Why on earth was this happening?!
Selene, does Lachie not like me anymore? Is that why he’s been so nice to Clara lately…
Lachlan’s love was her greatest weapon!
With it, everything would go her way.
But without it, everything would fall apart beyond repair.
“That’s not the case, Ms. Blackwood. Mr. Thorpe still loves you.”
Selene poured coffee for Lillian to help calm her down.
The forty slaps from earlier had knocked out one of her teeth, making her speech sound odd
with the air whistling through the gap.
“Was that the behavior of someone who loves me?!” Lillian shot back.
“Ms. Blackwood, listen. No matter how useless Clara might be, she’s still the legal wife. Her status counts for something. You’re just a mistress, yet you’ve slapped her face so many times her cheeks are all swollen. And Mr. Thorpe saw it but didn’t say a word, did he? Just based on that
alone, I think Mr. Thorpe has feelings for you…”
“What good are feelings? I’m still just a mistress, aren’t I? Just wait and see. One day, I’ll be
the true lady of the Thorpe family!”
Lillian slammed her fist on the table, her eyes burning with hatred!
But Selene was clearly worried.
“But Ms. Blackwood, Clara has already seen Liam. And about Mr. Madison Thorpe… do you think she’ll tell Mr. Thorpe?!”
“Let her talk all she wants. Lachie has to believe her first, doesn’t he?”
Lillian scoffed coldly but then fell silent.
She used to be confident about Lachlan. But now… it was hard to say.
Selene seemed to notice her hesitation and continued speaking, “Dealing with Liam is
actually easy. He’s a grown man. As long as he’s not caught red–handed, there’s always a way to talk your way out of it. But what about Madison Thorpe? He’s not really Mr. Thorpe’s son, and truth ever comes to light, that evidence is rock–solid. There’s no way to deny it!”
“Then…. what should I do?”
Lillian knew this all too well.
Lillian knew this all too well
Madison looked almost identical to Liam Davis as if cut from the some cloth! Having him around was like sitting on a ticking time bomb, just waiting to explode
“Ms. Blackwood, let me ask you two questions.” Selene said.
She sat down beside Lillian with a serious expression, her eyes intense.
“What is it?”
Utian looked up at her, confusion written across her face.
First, do you truly want to be the lady of the house? Second, once you become the lady of
the house do you still plan to carry on this affair with Liam?”
Selene.”
These questions were instead pointed, and Lillian felt a flash of irritation, her tone turning
harsh.
“Of course I want to be the lady of the house. What’s the alternative? Remain a mistress my entire life? And you know very well, I did have a thing with Liam initially, but since I hooked up with Lochie, I’ve wanted to end it. After all compared to Liam spending his days gambling and chasing women, Lachie is far superior in both status and character! But fate had other plans. I ended up pregnant with Liam’s child, and that bast**d found out! Since then, he’s been blackmailing me daily, demanding I continue being his woman and give him money to fund his wild lifestyle. If I refuse, he threatens to tell Lachie everything, which would ruin my life
completely!”
Lillian’s nails scraped loudly against the table as she spoke about her painful situation
Indeed, she had no one to blame but herself for being so blind as to fall for that scoundrel in
the first place!
Now she couldn’t shake him off no matter how hard she tried!
“Ms. Blackwood, I have a plan, if you’re willing to hear it,” Selene continued.
“Go ahead.”
“Rather than treating the symptoms, we should address the root cause. Ms. Blackwood, if you want to escape your predicament and stop being controlled by others, the best solution would be to kill two birds with one stone. The key is Madison.”
“Madison?” Lillian asked, confused.
“Exactly.”
Selene explained slowly, “You must know, Ms. Blackwood, that for all these years, despite how
much Mr. Thorpe loves you, he’s never once mentioned divorcing his wife to marry his mistress.
That’s mainly because Clara hasn’t made any serious mistakes, so Mr. Thorpe has no excuse. But
if Madison died, and Clara was responsible for his death, then wouldn’t Mr. Thorpe divorce her?”
“What! You want me to kill Madison?! Have you lost your mind, Selene?! Madison is my own
son
Lillian jumped to her feet, absolutely furious!
She never imagined Selene would dare suggest such a thing. The woman honestly had a
death wish!

“Miss Blackwood, I’m doing all of this for your Selene cried out, visibly upset.
“You can’t catch a wolf if you’re not willing to sacrifice the bait. If you want to take charge, you can’t win without extreme measures! We’ll pin it on Claral We can accuse her of being consumed by jealousy and harming your child. Shell fall from grace immediately! And look, the only reason Liam keeps blackmailing you is because of Madison, right? If Madison dies, there’s no witness left. As long as you aren’t caught in the oct with him again, nobody can touch you! By then, you’ll have the entire Thorpe family under your thumb. As for children… you and Mr. Thorpe can always try again! Who knows, maybe you’ll have eight or ten kids. If you want to be untouchable, you can’t leave any loose ends exposed. You need to nip this in the bud!” Selene spoke viciously. Her actions were helping both Lillian and herself.
Never in her life had she been beaten so severely. She’d lost several teeth. She wanted
revence!
She was going all in if Lillian rose to power, her good days wouldn’t be for behind!
Well.. let me think about it.”
Her hands trembled uncontrollably, and her legs felt weak
Lillian couldn’t stand it anymore. She collapsed onto the chair, her gaze vocant.
“What should I do? Could I really kill my own son? But if I don’t it seems I truly have no way
out. This is such a mess! What on earth should I do
Lillion remained silent, a battle roging in her mind.
Beside her, Selene noticed her lack of response, but she knew. Lillion was tempted
