Chapter 25 Seems Someone is Jealous
“Special assistant?” Farrah was surprised. “Mr. Locke already has a secretary, doesn’t he? Why does he still need a special assistant? Doesn’t that mean he doesn’t need to do anything himself?”
“Of course not,” Corey said. He was defensive of Adrian, and his tone was full of admiration. “Mr. Locke needs to analyze plenty of data sets before making an informed decision, especially regarding some of the company’s most important matters. It’s mentally draining, and no one but him can do it.”
He continued, “Don’t think he’s incapable because he’s young. He’s secretly been running the company for years now. Why else do you think Prestige Group is as powerful as it is now? He’s truly a genius in business and much smarter than you think.”
Farrah’s impression of Adrian improved when she heard this.
Meanwhile, a Lamborghini sped toward the hospital. Adrian was behind the wheel. He held it steadily as the sunlight streamed in through the window, making his face look even more handsome.
He couldn’t believe Corey had gotten into a fight with someone at the company’s entrance, even going so far as to get himself hurt again.
Germaine, who wore a blue suit and skirt with black pantyhose, sat in the backseat. Her exquisitely made- up face was calm on the surface, but she had mixed feelings.
Her gaze landed on the empty front passenger seat, and she wondered which woman would be lucky enough to sit there. It was a seat she dreamed of occupying.
Amidst her distraction, they arrived at the hospital. Germaine followed Adrian inside, and they took the elevator upstairs.
When they entered the ward, Farrah looked up from her apple, her gaze meeting Adrian’s. She was taken aback. He was equally surprised to see her there. Germaine’s expression also shifted subtly when she
saw Farrah.
“Hi, Mr. Locke. Hi, Gem.” Corey’s arm hurt, but he was in a great mood. He smiled and asked, “What are you guys doing here?”
The two returned to their senses and looked at Corey Just then, Farrah finished peeling the apple and handed it to him.
“Thanks.” He took it from her, his smile as warm as the sun shining outside.
Adrian noticed how Corey looked at Farrah–there was no hiding the joy and love in his eyes
Farrah put down the fruit knife and stood up. “Nice to see you, Mr. Locke, Ms. Keller.”
Germaine didn’t respond. She didn’t even spare Farrah a glance, keeping in character with her cold, aloof image.
Adrian asked Corey how he was doing and told him to focus on his recovery. Corey wasn’t just his subordinate–he was also a friend.
“Farrah. Adrian’s gaze landed on Farrah. “You come back to the company with me. Germaine can stay here to care for Corey.”
Germaine was taken aback. She turned to stare at Adrian in disbelief Corey was also surprised by this. He wanted to say something but didn’t know what he could do to keep Farrah around.

“Let’s go.” Adrian glanced at Farrah before turning to leave.
She had no choice but to bid Corey goodbye and follow Adrian out before Corey could do anything.
Germaine stood by the bed. She’d noticed something–Adrian knew Farrah’s name.
said, “You can head back to the company, too, Gem. I don’t need anyone to stay here with me.”

She looked at him. “I wouldn’t dare go against Mr. Locke’s orders.”
She went to the window and looked down at Adrian’s Lamborghini. After a while, she saw Adrian and Farrah exit the hospital. They headed to the Lamborghini, where he opened the front passenger door for
her.
Germaine sucked in a breath as she watched Farrah get in. She was still dazed even after the Lamborghini had sped off.
Her gaze was unfocused, and her heart sank underneath her calm exterior.

Adrian and Farrah sped toward the company in his Lamborghini. This was her first time was impressive. Since learning how much it cost, she couldn’t help feeling nervous as she sat there. She even breathed cautiously.
Compared to her, Adrian was calm. He held the wheel with one hand, his other hand leaning casually against the window. His eyes were focused on the road.
The atmosphere was a little gloomy. Farrah kept turning to glance at Adrian, finding him to be a little unhappy.
Since she was his lawfully wedded wife, should she explain to him what had happened earlier? So, shel started organizing her thoughts and words.
Adrian was inexplicably upset when he thought about how Corey had looked at Farrah. He asked, “Were you going to cheat on me?”
