Chapter 13 Tiptoe Around
Eventually. Alyssa accepted the bag Ethan offered.
In front of other people, Ethan acted like he never met Alyssa before.
On table reads or on set, Ethan reminded a perfect gentleman. He made sure Alyssa got his advances while not scaring her off.
For example, there were actresses from various countries in the crew. Alyssa would get into misunderstandings because of the language barrier. Every time, Ethan showed up in time to help.
And Alyssa always had the dishes she liked, though they were cut off from the outside world.
Alyssa had a detailed plan when she faked her death. But reality didn’t always go as planned and she would be caught off guard.
Ethan was like her guardian angel. He explained the script to Alyssa in depth, led her to find her way around sets, and helped her overcome every problem she encountered.
Alyssa knew Ethan a long time ago. After spending more than a year together, she understood his feelings for her. But they both tiptoed around.
- it.
Alyssa just survived a failed marriage and was reluctant to entrust her future with another man. She liked her current life.
Ethan was a gentleman and never pushed. Cathy started shipping them as they were so close on set. But Ethan handled it alone, shielding Alyssa from gossip.

The day the supporting female actress wrapped, the crew threw a farewell party.
As the female lead, Alyssa prepared a bouquet and a gift.
The supporting female actress had great acting skills and a happy family. Her husband had come over to pick her up. Watching the couple kiss and hug, Alyssa felt a lump in her throat.
She and Antonio were a loving couple too before Roxie came into the picture.
No matter how far her crew was from Edgecoast when she wrapped, Antonio would come over and be the first man to congratulate her. People would envy their love.
It was a pity that their marriage was doomed the moment Antonio.
cheated.
“What’s wrong? Do you like her better than me? But she’s your enemy in the film and I’m your love interest.”
Smiling, Ethan approached Alyssa and handed her a wet towel.
Alyssa hurriedly turned. She didn’t want anyone to see her vulnerable state, especially Ethan. He knew her too well.
Ethan stayed on the balcony with Alyssa. As Alyssa’s sobs gradually died down, he popped a candy in his mouth.
He tasted strawberry and chewed. He asked with fake nonchalance, “Do you think her character is a true villain?”
In Cathy’s film, the supporting female was a high school teacher. She became a femme fatale and vowed to kill all cheating men because of her fiancé’s betrayal. In the end, she joined Alyssa’s character to redeem herself but was killed by a mole.

None of these would’ve happened if her fiance didn’t cheat on her.
She wouldn’t have depression and could keep her family fortune. And she couldn’t die miserably.
Alyssa scoffed, “Her only fault was falling for the wrong man.”
“Yes, her only fault was falling for a wrong man.‘
Ethan’s causal tone turned serious. Alyssa snapped her head around to look at him.
Ethan leaned on the wall with one hand in his pocket. He was staring at Alyssa without blinking.
The staring contest lasted for two seconds. Then, Ethan took out two coconut candies and put them in Alyssa’s palm.
“Have some candies if you’ve seen sense. It’ll light up your mood.”
Alyssa tsked, “I’m not a child. Candies can’t help me.”
She never acted so relaxed in front of Ethan this year.
“If you say so, I have to quote that famous movie…”
“Candies aren’t just for children,” the two said in unison..
They met eyes and laughed out loud together.
After that night, the mood between them changed. They were even more in sync on set. Cathy was pleased by their performance and never stopped smiling.
After shooting, Cathy dragged Alyssa aside to speak in private.
“Darling, are you two sleeping together?”
