“Alright, but not until you taste the cake.”
Ethan knew that Alyssa had to watch her figure for the film, so he only used ingredients with lower sugar and fat.
Alyssa took two bites and dragged Ethan to eat on the floor with her. She put on a solemn look like a harsh warden.
Ethan chuckled, “I don’t dare to utter a word when you look like this.”
Still, he explained to Alyssa calmly.
Paisley, Ethan’s grandma, had to hide in the village when she was pregnant with Ethan’s father. At that time, she couldn’t get enough food and her living conditions were awful. But Alyssa’s grandma gave Paisley a hand. The two women hit it off and Paisley was grateful to Alyssa’s grandma, so the two became good friends.
When Ethan’s dad was four, Paisley and he returned home. Before they left, Paisley promised that she could come back to visit.
When she did, she planned to invite Alyssa’s grandma and Marco to live. with her as Marco’s father was gone. But Paisley couldn’t find them because they had left the village.
It was Paisley’s biggest regret in her life. Paisley was shocked when she saw Grace on TV. Grace looked identical to her grandma. She immediately ordered Ethan to investigate. That was why Ethan joined the reality show.

cake.
Still, Alyssa picked up something strange. No matter how close their grandmas were, Ethan didn’t have to come abroad to help her.
Looking at Alyssa’s knowing smile, Ethan raised his hands.
“Fine, I admit. I’ve set my eyes on you since a long time ago.”
“But we never met before that show.” Alyssa frowned.
“Bert Watts is the director of your first movie, right?”
“Yes.”
Ethan smiled. “He’s my childhood friend. I visited him on set often.”
Alyssa attracted attention everywhere she went. Naturally, she caught Ethan’s eyes too.
Ethan never envied anyone in his life. Antonio was the first. He was jealous of that jerk so much.
For two hours, Alyssa and Ethan chatted happily and finally finished the cake together.
“Alyssa?” Ethan walked Alyssa back to her room and stopped her when
she was about to enter.

Back in her room, Alyssa logged into her former account for the first time in a year.
Sophia’s messages popped up. The latest one was a link. It was an announcement made by the Kaufman Group.
“Antonio Kaufman, CEO of the Kaufman Group, has health problems due to a long–term stressful working environment and decides to resign. Starting now, Tyrell Kaufman, the second son of Howard Kaufman, will be the new CEO of Kaufman Group. Please look forward to the future of
our group.”
Alyssa frowned.
She thought Antonio and Kelly were Howard’s only children.
Who was this Tyrell guy?
Alyssa put down her phone and finally figured it out.
After Alyssa left town one year ago, Sophia had used the PR machine on the Kaufman Group, destroying its reputation.
