Chapter 16 Getting Together
The rest of the shooting was smooth sailing.
Cathy returned with the result of her two years of hard work and was determined to reshuffle the movie market.
The night before the trailer’s release, a weary Alyssa attended the victory party.
Not feeling well, she sat on the couch in a booth and fell asleep.
When she woke up, the party was over. Only one man was waiting for her. Ethan was sitting with his back to her as he worked on his computer.
Ethan was in a black shirt. The sleeves were rolled up. He was wearing glasses. It seemed he was going over files.
Alyssa watched him for a while before getting up. She realized that someone had taken her shoes off and put a coat on top of her. She smelt a faint woodsy scent.
“You’re awake.”
Ethan shut down his laptop and came over to help her put on her shoes.
“I can do it myself.”
“Are you hungry?” Ethan handed Alyssa a paper bag. “The kitchen staff have clocked out. Would you like to have my cooking?”
Alyssa had been haunted by the dream and wanted to keep her distance from Ethan. She opened her mouth to reject him but was cut off by the grumble of her stomach.

Shy and embarrassed, Alyssa felt her cars burning.
Ethan smiled and ruffled her hair. “Wait here.”
After Ethan left, Alyssa felt a warm dampness between her legs. She rummaged in her purse for tampons but came up empty.
For reasons she couldn’t explain, Alyssa opened the paper bag. As she expected, there were pads and tampons of various brands.
When did Ethan notice?
Alyssa found it hard to believe.
She exited the bathroom after putting on a new tampon. There was a plate of vegetable ravioli on the table.
“I’m worried that you’ll get too hungry. Eat this first.”
Alyssa walked to the table gingerly and nodded.
Ethan was a good cook and all the dishes were delicious.
However, Alyssa thought Ethan was the most delicious thing in the room.
Suddenly, she found the courage and pushed her plate toward Ethan after a few bites.
“I’m full now.”
Nyla was harsh against Alyssa. When she was little, Alyssa often couldn’t get enough food. So, she rarely shared.
Even after she grew up, out of habit, Alyssa would share her food with. someone as the first step of starting a close relationship.
Ethan stopped moving his mouse and stared at Alyssa for two seconds.

Then, he happily accepted the plate and finished eating the food.
After the meal, Ethan drove Alyssa home.
In fact, she couldn’t call it her home. She rented the apartment when she came to this country. But she barely lived here as she had to stay in the studio for Cathy’s film.
It caused the problem at hand. The electricity and water were cut off. The landlord even changed the lock.
“Let’s go. Come home with me.”
Entering Ethan’s house, Alyssa finally sensed something was off.
From toiletries to the layout, Ethan had arranged the house based on her preferences.
There were things she liked and shared with her fans in vlogs. Things that she endorsed. Even the skin care products were the ones she had been
using.
Since the room was to her liking, Alyssa slept well that night.
The next morning, she woke up and went downstairs. The dinner table. was full of breakfast dishes she liked.
“Good morning. Did you sleep well last night?”
Ethan looked over his shoulder and asked before turning back to focus on the pancake he was cooking.
Instead of answering, Alyssa walked over and hugged him from behind, her arms wrapping around his waist.
“Ethan, thank you.
Ethan froze. He lost in thought for a few seconds and swiftly turned off the stove before picking Alyssa up and carrying her to the dinner table outside.
“Never say thank you.
“Alyssa, I do what I do for you willingly. You don’t have to force yourself just because you’re grateful…”
Ethan was cut off by a pair of soft lips on his mouth.
Ethan hadn’t recovered from the shock even after Alyssa pulled away.
As Ethan didn’t react to her kiss, Alyssa felt embarrassed and made a run. But Ethan immediately stopped her and carried her back to the table.
Ethan returned the kiss. While he was lacking in skill, he made up with passion.
Cathy was a famous director. Once the trailer was released, it immediately went viral worldwide.
It didn’t take a genius to know that it caused an uproar in Edgecoast too.
Meanwhile, since Alyssa finally accepted him, Ethan had the urge to marry her right away.
However, Alyssa was the female lead of the film and the promotion campaigns needed her. Ethan never attended promotions. So, he planned to return to the nation and tell Paisley the good news.
“You’re the heir of the Dawson family. How could you abandon the family business to take part in this film? I really don’t know why Paisley would agree to this in the first place.”
“I didn’t abandon it.” Ethan bought dessert over. He sliced a piece and fed it to Alyssa with a fork.

Later that night, they cuddled after sex. Alyssa held Ethan’s hand and fiddled his fingers. Ethan surprised her by saying, “After I return to the country. I’ll go after the people who have wronged you. Every one of them.”
