Chapter 6 Charity Dinner
Antonio was over 1.8 m tall. He bent over humbly, waiting for Grace’s
answer.
His embrace was so tight Grace couldn’t breathe. He seemed to truly love her, making a fuss over anything about her.
Grace patted him gently. “No. There’s been too much work lately. I need at break.”
“Really?” he asked in a choking voice.
“Did some idiot upset you? I’ll teach him a lesson!”
Grace shook her head, and Antonio held her hand immediately.
“Honey, if you’re unhappy, let me know, OK? As I said, if anyone picks on you, I’ll make him wish he were never born!”
Grace thought, “Really?
“But all my unhappiness was caused by you.”
She touched the tears on Antonio’s chin. Suddenly, she was looking forward to the moment he saw her “ashes.”
Would he grieve?
Would he make out with Roxie at her funeral?
Antonio was too selfish.
Henceforth, Antonio went home on time. He would make breakfast. It was like their life was back on track again.

But Grace knew it was just a pretense.
Antonio never stopped fooling around with Roxie. Grace received obscene photos almost every day.

They mated like wild animals and screamed on the big bed in the CEO’s lounge.
“We tasted the forbidden fruit today. Antonio was a beast. My voice.
became hoarse.”
“Antonio said I’ve become more enchanting. He couldn’t resist me. Oh, by the way, we didn’t do it on the bed you selected. It was on the couch you designed.”
Grace almost forgot. All the furnishings in Antonio’s office were bought according to her likes. She selected the furniture. Her portraits were hung on the wall.
A heart–wrenching pain seized her.
Some childhood sweethearts and devoted couple!
The formerly treasured memories came back to her, cutting her inch by inch like blades.
It hurt! Hatred devoured her.
Grace struggled to stand up. After taking some pills, she started packing.
It took the houseworkers four days to gather the gifts Antonio had bought
her these years.
When Grace was 18, he bought her a pair of crystal shoes. He sent her a 10–carat type II diamond every month. There were also tons of other shining jewels.

“Donate them to charity.”
The donation caused a sensation online.
Seeing the news, Antonio left an international meeting and sped home.
“Honey, why did you donate all the gifts I bought you?”
In only a blouse, Grace was tying her hair. She was surprised to see him.
Antonio seemed to have tripped. There was dust on his customized suit. The back of his hand was scraped and bleeding. It was an embarrassing sight.
Grace looked down and said in a low voice, “Isn’t charity a good cause?”
She knew how hard life was for girls in the remote countryside and how determined they were to change their fate. Although Roxie had destroyed her marriage, Grace wouldn’t stop doing charity.
Antonio was relieved to see Grace was her usual self. “Of course, it is. But those gifts carry good memories. I thought I did something wrong and upset you.
“I’m relieved that I didn’t. Donate them if you want. If you wanna donate more, I can open more bank cards for you. I make money for you.” He kissed Grace on the cheek.
Grace had been acting weird. There were times when Antonio wanted to end his affair, but cheating was too exciting and tempting. He was addicted to it.
He couldn’t get rid of it.

Besides, Grace already his wife, right?
Antonio kept telling himself that and was stuck in his absurd fling

As he had wished, Grace picked a well–fit suit for Antonio and asked him to get changed. She wanted him to go to the charity dinner with her.
As soon as they appeared, the gorgeous couple became the center of attention at the banquet.
Grace circulated and was surrounded by rich ladies.
Afterward, she looked around and didn’t see Antonio anywhere.
Her heart skipped a beat. Then, her phone vibrated.
Unlike the former ones, this time, the message was short.
“The storage room on the second floor.”
