Chapter 6
The elevator arrived, and I turned to go in.
I threatened not to let him in.
He didn’t say anything after all and looked at me from a distance through the elevator door.
After entering the house, I rushed to the sofa and covered my eyes with a pillow.
My mood was very complicated.
“Spencer! Spencer! Spencer!”
I punched the pillow in my hand a few times.
I sighed and closed my eyes.
I thought, “Why did he come to me? Why did he reappear in my world?
Since he chose Taylor, why didn’t he just let me go?”
I gradually fell asleep.
In my dream, I seemed to have returned to the summer when I first met Spencer.
The cicadas were chirping, and the plastic track was almost melted into mud in the heat wave.
Chapter 6
I was teased by a few boys and went to the basketball court to bring them water in the hot sun.

But in the end, they pushed me to the hotel next to the school.
I didn’t expect that my kindness would become indecent in their
eyes.
They even had drugs.
If Spencer hadn’t appeared, I would have been dragged away to who knows where.
At that time, I was so scared that I almost fainted.
I only vaguely saw a figure holding a basketball and walking towards me against the light.
He carried me to the infirmary without telling me his name.
Later, I learned that he was the most popular and unattainable boy in our school.
At the age of eighteen, I met a light that I wanted to chase.
In the seven years since then, I had been chasing him all the time.
I tried my best to take Spencer’s courses, attend his classes, and join his study group.
As long as I was with him, I felt at ease.
But perhaps that was just the naivest fantasy of a teenage girl.
Chapter 6
There was no heart in this world that could be placed on someone else.
When I woke up, my nose was a little itchy.
I might have a cold.
Simon sent me a message saying that he would give me a surprise.
His surprise did not make me look forward to it at all.

Sure enough, when I got downstairs, I saw that he had laid a red carpet for me, extending all the way to the front of his sports car.
He was wearing a strange butler’s uniform. “Ms. Yost, welcome to work.”
I wanted to close my eyes.
I felt dizzy in the convertible because of the wind.
But he still shouted happily, “Are you satisfied with such a wild commute to work?”
I was not satisfied.
After getting out of the car, I gave him a ban. “Simon, if you do this kind of thing again, stay away from me.”
I rubbed my eyebrows and went upstairs.
When I caught a cold, I usually didn’t have obvious symptoms, just felt very uncomfortable.
Chapter 6
The meeting ended after Spencer arranged all the work concisely.
I stood up a beat late.

He frowned, stepped forward, and grabbed my wrist. He was immediately frightened by my hot body temperature.
“Quiana, you have a cold.”
“I’m fine. I’ll be fine after drinking some water.”
I clearly refused him. He pursed his lips and said nothing. But a few minutes later, there was a bottle of medicine and a hot soup on my desk.
I was very proud. I didn’t take them. I packed and put them on his desk.
“Mr. Scott, thank you for your concern. I don’t need it.”
I was no longer the little girl who needed Spencer’s protection.
I could take care of myself.
He stood up and took me to the company’s rooftop, regardless of the fact that it was working hours.
I frowned and tried to break free, but his hands were like clamps.
I shivered a little when the wind on the rooftop blew.
He put his suit on me and blocked me in the corner.

and the dark circles under his eyes.
When did he become so tired?
But I immediately put it out of my mind.

“Mr. Scott, please pay attention. I am no longer your exclusive secretary without a title. I already have a boyfriend.”
