Chapter 8
I whispered, “I want to see how long you can endure.”
“Huh?”
He didn’t hear clearly and leaned forward to me. His eyelashes fluttered like trembling butterflies.
I couldn’t resist the temptation and kissed him.
His eyes slowly widened, and he looked at me in disbelief. “Quiana?”
It seemed like it would take forever to wait for Spencer to figure it out.
So, I leaned close to his ear and whispered, “I’m just teasing you. In fact, I’m going to marry an old man tomorrow. He is richer and more experienced than you. He is gentle to me and tells me everything. I love him very much, so I’m going to marry him
tomorrow.”
“No!” He suddenly reacted and held my arms with both hands.
“Why not?”
“Old men like that are mostly sweet–talkers and can’t be trusted. Girls like you will be deceived.”
“Oh? Why do you say that about my Mr. Right? You’re just jealous.”

I didn’t know what nerve was touched. He suddenly became
strong.

Spencer grabbed my two wrists with one hand and put his other hand around my waist, holding me so that I couldn’t move.
He suddenly became angry and bit the side of my neck directly, which hurt me so much that I twitched.
“Let go, Spencer! It’s none of your business who I’m with. Why do you care?
“Did you block all the confessions of those boys in college?
“When I was working at the Scott Group, some men had a crush on me. But they looked at me like a monster the next day. Was it because of you?”
He didn’t deny it. He opened his mouth and started licking my neck like a puppy.
He said unwillingly, “Those men have bad intentions at first glance. You don’t need to get in touch with them.”
Bad intentions?
He should be the one with bad intentions.
I pulled his hair in annoyance and kicked him.
“If I don’t ask, will you never tell me?”
Spencer pursed his lips and hugged me tighter. “Won’t you hate me? Aren’t you angry about what I did?”

Actually, no.
I was quite happy after knowing it.
“Uh… but you were blocking my love. Shouldn’t you tell me?”
“Why should I tell you? The men who can be stopped by me are all men with weak wills. If so, why should I let you know? Too much trouble.”
It made sense.
But it just seemed wrong.
What was wrong?
I didn’t figure it out until midnight.
Anyway, the final result was that I tricked him back into getting married. It didn’t matter whether the specific process was the same as I expected.
I once vowed that I would never return to his arms, but I regretted it after all.
This showed that vows couldn’t be trusted.
The only thing we could grasp was the present.
Just like now, I was lying in Spencer’s arms, watching the golden sunlight shining through the window.
Today we didn’t need to go to work, so we could spend one day
Chapter 8 together.
This moment was what we had spent twenty years trying to achieve in our clumsy way.
The rest of our lives was too long. Don’t think about it.
The past was gone. Don’t miss it.

Spencer opened his eyes and asked me in a hoarse voice, “Woke up? What do you want for breakfast?”
His pupils reflected the sky.
The End.
