Leona couldn’t believe it. If he really loved her sister, how could he have stayed by her side so many times, secretly with her, playing and laughing together?
“Stop deceiving yourself! Don’t you remember all those nights you chose to be with me instead of her? Your heart has always been with me! Don’t mistake your guilt over her leaving for love. It’s not love!”
Leona grew more and more frantic as she spoke. Each word she uttered reminded Dave of his wrongdoings.

He knew exactly how he had treated Kate. How could he forget?
It had been half a month since she left and it seemed like everything had changed. He hadn’t gone out in a long time, perhaps out of fear of hearing more insults. But he knew all of this was Kate’s punishment for him.
He accepted it, hoping only that Kate would come back to his side.
He blocked Leona‘ s number and things were much quieter. Then, his phone rang again–this time, it was his mother. Ast usual, her call wasn‘ t to comfort him but to either scold him for being useless or pressure him into attending some event.
But he couldn’t bring himself to care. With a blank expression, he answered the phone.

“Prepare for the wedding with Leona.”
Dave was stunned, disbelief evident in his voice. “Why?”
His mother let out a cold laugh, her tone laced with both helplessness and sarcasm. “Why? Don’t you know how you ve been feeling? Who told you to get her pregnant! Now you want me to clean up your mess!”
After Dave had rejected her and sent her out, Leona turned her attention to his family.
Originally, she had planned to secretly terminate the pregnancy, but she never anticipated that the situation would turn out this way.
She informed Dave’s mother, Hana, about the pregnancy, knowing that even thought Hana disliked her, she would have no
choice but to accept the child growing inside her.
The most important thing was that she was using the pregnancy as leverage,
