Chapter 25

Dave gazed out the window, finding it hard to believe that Kate would travel to
Polarisia alone.
Back when they were together, Kate often mentioned wanting to visit Polarisia, but Dave always brushed it off with a half- hearted response.
Upon arriving in Polarisia, they didn’t even take the time to drop off their luggage.
They headed straight to the location sent. by Dave’s friend.
But when they got there, they found nothing.
After asking people nearby, they learned that Kate had just left.
“You mean those two cruise ships? Oh, they were spectacular!”
It felt almost like fate had decided that they
were never meant to see Kate.

But Dave didn’t want to let this opportunity slip by. Every time he thought about Kate being with another man, his heart ached uncontrollably.
They followed the river through Polarisia, determined to find her.
And in the end, they really did find her.
They stood before the massive cruise ship, stunned.
None of them had expected that Kate would leave by cruise.
With a single glance, they saw her, dressed
as
in a casual dress, holding a bouquet of fresh flowers.
She then quietly sat at the table, sharing a meal, her face adorned with an
unprecedented smile.
Melanie and Dave stood frozen in place, unable to move.
Across from her sat Harry and his mother,
too.

It looked just like a family of three, laughing and talking together.
It was something Kate had never had before. And it pierced their hearts, painfully.
When Kate was with them, she never
smiled like that.
Melanie trembled uncontrollably, pointing at them with a shaking finger, then turning
to look at Dave.
“What is this?”
They knew exactly what it was.
This was the new family Kate had found. She no longer needed her mother or her boyfriend.
Melanie covered her mouth with her hand, watching as Kate was so kind and gentle with the middle–aged woman. Her heart ached, but she couldn’t control her
emotions.
Dave remained silent and no one knew.

what was going through his mind.
He slowly made his way upward, like an intruder breaking the peace of the
moment.
Melanie followed behind, until finally, Kate saw them.
At the moment their eyes met, Kate‘ s smile froze on her face. It seemed like she had already known this day would come.
“Why are you here?” Kate looked at them coldly, all her smiles and joy vanishing in an instant. “What do you want from me?”
She looked at the two of them, her gaze as distant as if they were strangers.
When Dave looked at Kate, he suddenly froze.
In the time she had been away, it seemed she had become even more beautiful.
He remained silent for a long while before finally murmuring, “I’m sorry.”

But Kate didn’t want to hear those words
at all. She just wanted her life to be peaceful and calm.
She didn’t want any part of everything
else.
The apology felt like reopening a wound that had never truly healed, forcing her to relive the pain.
When she looked at him, all that was left in her eyes was indifference.
“Don’t apologize to me. I don’t want to
hear it.”
Dave knew she wouldn’t forgive him. In a sudden move, he reached out and grabbed
her hand.
He assumed it would be like before, where a few sweet words could smooth everything
over.
“Kate, please come back with me. I really miss you. I’ve been looking for you for so long. Now, I and Leona…”

But how he was doing now didn’t matter.
to Kate at all.
She grew irritated by his words and forcefully pulled her hand away from Dave.
“Can you stop? What does it have to do with
me?”
This was the first time Dave had seen such a cold, impatient Kate.
Her indifference and frustration pierced his heart once again.
