Eleanor didn’t even have time to change. She ran downstairs in her pajamas, wrapped in a fluffy cartoon jacket.
The graduate dormitory building was mostly empty, and the sound of her footsteps echoed on the stairs. A layer of morning mist covered the ground outside the dorm, and a car with its lights on pulled up.
She quickly ran over, but her slippers slipped off, and she stumbled, falling forward.
Fortunately, someone supported her.
“Are you throwing yourself into my arms this early in the morning?”
It was Elijah.
His deep voice blended with the cool morning mist, and his strong arms lifted her effortlessly.
When Eleanor looked up, her gaze met his intense eyes, and for a moment, she was left in a daze. She didn’t know why Elijah was here. It was supposed that her mother was coming over. Eleanor’s bare feet touched the cold ground, and the chill from the tiles instantly snapped her back to reality.
“Where’s my mom?”
“She twisted her back,” Elijah said coldly.
“I’ll call a taxi myself. I won’t trouble you.”
With that, Eleanor turned and hopped forward on one foot.
Behind her, Avery held up a shoe, rubbing his head.
“Miss Brown, your shoe.”
“I don’t need it….”
The tiles in the morning mist were covered with tiny beads of water.
Eleanor only hopped twice and suddenly slipped, her body falling out of control.
Elijah pulled her back, and she crashed heavily into his chest, the impact making her chest throb with pain.
The man’s grip on her grew tighter.
He lowered his gaze, his voice deep and husky, speaking in a tone only the two of them could hear, “You came down without wearing a bra?”

Eleanor was stunned and avoided eye contact.
People usually wore less when they sleep.
Besides, she thought it was Lily who had come
She didn’t even have time to struggle. She immediately raised her hand, pressing it against the space between them. No matter how calm she tried to appear, she couldn’t stop her cheeks from turning red.
“I’m wearing a jacket, she emphasized.
Elijah did not listen to her at all. He narrowed his eyes and said, “What if a man finds out?”
Eleanor shifted slightly, pressing her lips together. “Elijah, this is the girls‘ dorm. Other than you, who else is here? Let go of me!”
“Except me…” Elijah said, turning his head toward Avery, who was holding a fuzzy slipper.
Avery looked utterly confused and pointed at himself. “Me… too? Okay, okay.”
He immediately turned around, thinking. Whatever the boss says.
Perhaps the commotion was a bit too loud, as the dormitory supervisor opened the door and stepped out. “Who’s there?”
Eleanor was shocked and nervously pushed Elijah.
This time, he didn’t make things difficult for her. After steadying her, he stood tall and composed at her
side.
“I’m….” Eleanor balanced on one foot, and without support, she wobbled, unable to even finish her
sentence.
Suddenly, a hand quietly supported her body from behind.
Just as the dormitory supervisor approached, she managed to stand firm and explain, I’m a graduate. I asked someone to come help me move my luggage.”
The dormitory supervisor stopped, giving Eleanor a once–over. “Oh, it’s you. Your department head mentioned that you were the only one left. You’d better hurry and move your things today. Otherwise, if they send someone to clear it out, most of your stuff will probably get lost.”
“Yes, thank you. I’ll get to it right away.”
“Hey, wait a minute. Who’s this man?”
The dormitory supervisor squinted, leaning forward slightly to get a better look at Elijah. She was clearly struggling without her reading glasses.
Eleanor glanced up at Elijah, only to find him watching her with interest, as if waiting for her to introduce
him
She hesitated for a moment before saying, “He’s… my uncle, Elijah…ouch!”
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt someone pinch her lower back,

The dormitory supervisor had poor eyesight and could only see a tall man in black standing next to
Eleanor.
She couldn’t see his face clearly, but his presence felt cold and intimidating.
Not wanting to ask too much, she waved her hand. ‘Go ahead, but be quick.”
Before Eleanor could respond, she suddenly felt weightless. Elijah had picked her up in his arms.
He looked at the dormitory supervisor and said calmly, “My niece is a little naughty. She twisted her
ankle.”
The dormitory supervisor chuckled. “She’s indeed naughty. Go on, take care of her.”
Elijah carried her straight into the dormitory.
Behind them, the dormitory supervisor chuckled. “Young people these days are so funny. Do they really think I don’t get it? Calling a boyfriend uncle is common nowadays.”
Eleanor’s face burned with embarrassment. She quickly turned her head to explain. “It’s not…”
Elijah took a long step and headed upstairs, cutting off her voice.
Eleanor looked at Elijah suspiciously. She did not know if it was an illusion, but there seemed to be a smile in his eyes.
