Chapter 145 Another Woman
“Another woman?” Elijah paused and looked at her quietly.
You had a custom dress made for her, something even Zoey never received. It must have been tough fitting that into your busy schedule. Eleanor sneered.
Elijah half–closed his eyes, scanning her expression and immediately understanding her thoughts.
His voice turned cold. “After all that talk, what’s your condition?”
Eleanor had only one request. “Don’t make things difficult for Jaxen anymore.”
“You’re using this to threaten me… just for him? Eleanor, you’re really good.”
Elijah stepped back, a dangerous glint flashing in his eyes.
Eleanor stood up straight, hiding her trembling hands behind her back as she dug her nails into the edge of the table.
Elijah didn’t deny the existence of another woman.
In that moment, she realized how pathetic and laughable her past self had been. Her entire life had been nothing more than a sacrifice.
A sharp pain shot through her fingers, her nail had broken. But pain no longer mattered. She had long since grown numb to it.
Elijah fell silent for a moment, his gaze darkening. “You didn’t even ask who the woman is?”
Eleanor assumed he was testing her. “Don’t worry, Elijah. I won’t ask. I don’t care who she is. I just don’t want to be dragged into it.
“Don’t care?” Elijah sneered. “Are you really that blind?”
“What?”
Before she could finish, the dormitory door was abruptly thrown open.
Before seeing the person, the voice came first.
“Eleanor! Why aren’t you leaving yet? Looks like we’ll have to help you move…” The voice suddenly faltered. “Mr., Mr. Davis?”
It was the dorm director.
Behind him stood three men dressed in security uniforms, but Eleanor had never seen them before.
She remained cautious and discreetly observed them. A tattoo peeking from the side of their collars gave
them away.
Although security guards didn’t hold high positions, they often appeared on campus, and their overall image mattered.
The school strictly prohibited them from having tattoos.

Even if they had tattoos, they wouldn’t be allowed in such visible places.
The tattoo on the guard’s neck showed that it stretched from his back to his arm, which would be easy to see in the summer,
They were definitely not school security.
Elijah noticed it too, though not from their tattoos. Instead, he observed it in the way they walked.
Their steps were light but careless, as if they were used to sneaking around.
It was clear they had done plenty of shady things before.
No one dared to imagine what might happen with them barging into a female student’s dorm.
Elijah stepped in front of the approaching dorm supervisor. “What’s the matter?”
The director quickly put on a polite smile and said, “Mr. Davis, this building is being renovated for the new students, but Eleanor has been slow to move out. Since she’s a girl and moving can be hard, I asked three security guards to help her.”
“Mr. Davis, there’s no need for you to trouble yourself. I’ll just have them help Eleanor move.”
His face was full of flattery, yet he didn’t dare to look Elijah in the eye. Especially when mentioning the three security guards, his voice wavered.
It seemed that he knew their true identities.
Elijah wondered why he did this.
Just as Eleanor was about to question the three security guards about their identities, Elijah stopped her.
He interrupted, “The daughter of the Davis family doesn’t need anyone’s help.”
“What? The daughter?” The director’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.
He glanced nervously at the three security guards.
The guards flinched and quickly left the dormitory.
Eleanor frowned and tried to chase after them, but Elijah grabbed her wrist.
“Let’s go. Without giving her a chance to react, Elijah led Eleanor out of the dormitory.
When they reached the car, Eleanor shook off his hand. “Why didn’t you let me ask? Those three were. suspicious.”
“Get in the car.”
“You know who they are, don’t you?” Eleanor demanded.
“I said get in the car Elijah opened the car door.
Eleanor knew she was no match for him. Now that the three security guards had disappeared, even questioning the director wouldn’t get her any answers.

She had no evidence.
Eleanor took a deep breath, got into the car, and left with Elijah.
After sending the three men away, the director dialed a number.
“Miss Taylor, it didn’t work. Mr. Davis was there too.
“He was there? Did he notice anything?” Zoey’s voice sharpened.
“He probably didn’t, but he said that Eleanor is the Davis family’s daughter. Miss Taylor, why didn’t you tell me that?” The director’s tone carried a hint of blame.
Daughter? She’s nothing! You messed it up and now you’re blaming me?” Zoey hung up the phone. She was so angry that even her mother, Milena, frowned when she saw her twisted appearance.
Milena reminded her. “Watch your image. You’re a public figure. What would people think if this got out?”
