Eleanor wore a look of confusion on her face, and Zocy, along with the others, was momentarily stunned as they alternated their gaze between her and the woman on the floor.
The first to snap out of it was Mandy. She furrowed her brows and looked at Julian. “How did you recognize her as Eleanor?”
Julian’s face turned pale and she stammered in panic, “I… I just saw the clothes. I’m sorry, I might have mistaken her for someone else. I’m sorry. Eleanor.” She broke down in tears, overwhelmed with guilt.
“Stop crying!” Mandy snapped, her patience wearing thin. She turned her gaze back to the woman on the floor and said, with a hint of warning. “Don’t force me to make you leave like this. Lift your head!”
At the thought of walking out of this room without any cover, the woman on the floor finally began to be afraid. She turned her head toward the man, seemingly waiting for help.
But unfortunately, the man, now pinned down by others, was in no position to help himself, let alone her. The woman cautiously lifted her face, her flushed cheeks still not fully faded, presenting a mocking sight to Mandy.
“Haven! It’s you?”
Everyone was shocked when they saw Haven’s face.
Haven’s appearance and figure were nothing extraordinary, even falling short compared to the well- maintained Mandy.
They didn’t understand what Mandy’s husband was thinking.
Haven wrapped herself in her clothes and cried, “Ms. Whitney, I… I was framed. It was Eleanor who called me to lounge 6! The moment I entered, I felt my entire body heat up. Then, I don’t remember anything
else.
The crowd immediately shifted into a gossiping mood, wondering if the plot was actually turning around. Mandy frowned and looked at Eleanor. “What’s going on?”
Eleanor shook her head in confusion. “Ms. Whitney, I don’t understand why Haven said that either. Even if I let her go to lounge 6 to frame her, this is lounge 9.”
With that, she pointed to the sign on the door.
A large number 9 was clearly displayed.
Haven stared at the number in disbelief. She suddenly thought of something and stared at Eleanor, as if searching for an explanation.
Eleanor smirked and pretended to be worried. “Haven, did you just say that I framed you? But Ms. Whitney’s husband is also in this room. Are you saying that I colluded with him and used force when you were unconscious? Then do you want to call the police?”
Just now, Haven instinctively tried to clear her name, but she ended up implicating Mandy’s husband. Her face darkened immediately.

Haven quickly changed her story, now blaming Julian. “It was her! She was jealous of Eleanor and hated Zoey, so she forced me to cause trouble at the banquet. I had no choice!”
As soon as she finished speaking, Julian immediately knelt on the ground, shaking. “I swear, it wasn’t me! I would never dare to do that!”
Zoey walked to Julian’s side and helped her up. “I believe Julian. She’s famous for being timid in our school. How could she do such a thing?”
Given how Julian was so scared that she kneeled, no one in the room believed Haven’s words.
Haven looked up and met the vicious gazes of Zoey and Julian. She immediately understood that the so- called collaboration with Julian was actually just the two of them treating her as a pawn to deal with Eleanor.
Now that she had been exposed, she had become a discarded
pawn.
Mandy stared at her with disgust. “Haven, what else do you have to say?”
Haven’s face turned pale. She finally realized her fear and quickly hid beside Mandy’s husband. She looked at him with watery eyes. “Honey, help me…”
Mandy’s husband pushed her away. “Don’t call me so intimately. I’m afraid you’ll report me. You better explain yourself.”
He stood up, put on his clothes, and coldly snorted at Mandy before walking away.
Scumbags were scumbags. They only did things that were beneficial to them.
Now, Haven became the target of public criticism.
Until a hotel staff member came over to remind. “Miss Taylor, the gift from Mr. Davis has arrived.”
Zoey couldn’t help but feel smug and said, “Let’s head back to the main hall, everyone. Don’t let this little interruption ruin the mood.”
Some people began to gossip.
“The gift from Elijah must be a mysterious piece of jewelry. Hurry up and take a look.”
“I want to see the jewelry that Mr. Davis bought with such a large sum.”
Zoey glanced at Eleanor and smiled. “Alright, I’ll definitely show it to everyone. Let’s go.”
She led the group
out of the room.
Mandy also snorted and left
Haven sat on the floor, watching as Julian walked past her. She muttered bitterly, “What a loyal puppet.”
Julian stopped. She seemed to sympathize with Haven as she bent down to straighten Haven’s clothes, but
there was a faint sneer at the corner of her mouth.
“Who do you think you are? A defeated pawn is worse than a puppet.
After adjusting her clothes, Julian walked away.
