The policewoman said honestly. “Mateo claimed he became irritable after drinking too much. He even showed a psychiatric report from overseas and said… that you willingly ate and watched a movie with hi so he assumed you were open to having sex with him.”
Eleanor’s breath caught, and a suffocating pain gripped her chest. “Just because I agreed to dinner and a movie doesn’t mean I consented to anything more! Which rule says that? I’ve rejected him.”
“Miss Brown. Mateo mentioned that your mother agreed too,” the policewoman said, looking at her helplessly.
Eleanor choked and could not say anything.
The policewoman paused for a moment before reassuring her, “Your testimony is crucial right now. We will thoroughly investigate it.”
Hearing this, Eleanor heaved a sigh of relief. At least someone is willing to help me.
She revealed everything that had happened and noted that Mateo’s car had been modified and it was clearly not the first time he had done so.
The policewoman took notes carefully and then asked, “Is there anything else you’d like to add?”
Eleanor thought for a moment and slowly said. “Elijah. Zoey saw it.”
The policewoman was taken aback, her expression shifting to one of discomfort.
Eleanor asked, “Is there a problem?”
The policewoman closed the transcript, frowning. I’ve asked. Zoey said she didn’t see anything, and Elijal said the same.” As soon as she finished, Eleanor dropped the cup in her hand onto the blanket.
Grabbing the wet blanket, Eleanor hung her head in silence, bitterness filling her heart. What had I been expecting? Zoey couldn’t wait for something to happen to me. Elijah wanted to teach me a lesson for not obeying, and they succeeded. What a perfect match!
The policewoman patted her shoulder. “Get some rest. I’ll head back to the station to investigate. I’ll contact you if I find anything. As the door closed, the room fell silent.
Eleanor stared at the white wall in front of her, her face pale and drained of all strength. How am I going to
turn this around?

Eleanor propped herself up and approached the door. Just before she opened it, she heard Jayden’s firm and unyielding voice “Bastard! I’ve only given you this cooperation, and look at what you’ve done!”

Jayden was already angry, but seeing his son’s disappointment only fueled his rage. He raised his hand, as if to poke Logan’s brain, and shouted, “How did I end up with such a useless son? You are brainless! You are manipulated by a woman! If you were half as smart as Elijah, you wouldn’t be in this mess!”
Logan’s expression turned even uglier.
Eleanor released the door handle. realizing that stepping out now would only embarrass Logan further. Her uncle had always treated her well, and she didn’t want to complicate things for him.
At that moment, a deep, cold voice interrupted, as a dark figure approached slowly, calm and composed. His handsome face showed no emotion, and his eyes were icy. “Dad. Mateo is fine. There’s no point in scolding Logan.”
I don’t just want to scold him. The Jenkins family demands an explanation. If this scandal gets out, how will the Davis family face anyone? We shouldn’t have let just anyone into the family, especially not someone who came with a disaster that brings endless trouble about men, Jayden said, glancing at Lily with a serious expression.

If they investigated further, Mateo wouldn’t just get a head injury. The entire Jenkins family would face the consequences. The Jenkins family was targeting them with Mateo’s injury just to extract greater benefits from their cooperation.
