Eleanor couldn’t afford to offend these people in the industry, so she nodded carefully and walked straight to the principal.”
The principal smiled and said, “Now that everyone’s here, let’s take our seats. Mr. Davis, please this way.”
Elijah nodded and walked past Eleanor, bringing a chill that made her clench her fists.
Zoey was Elijah’s fiancée. Naturally, she sat beside him, her status only second to the principal’s.
She acted like the hostess, directing Eleanor to sit among the guests.
“Eleanor, these are all alumni from our school, and they’re quite famous now. You can sit in the middle and learn from them.”
Eleanor wanted to refuse, but one of the men reached out and pulled her to sit down.
“Don’t be shy. You’re our junior. We’ll definitely take good care of you.”
Eleanor frowned in displeasure at the word “junior“.
These middle–aged, greasy men, who had graduated over a decade ago, confidently referred to her as “junior“.
As soon as she sat down, the few men with eager lecherous gazes immediately took the seats beside her.
There were no empty spots left if she wanted to move.
Eleanor could only endure the sticky gazes around her and pretend to be calm.
At the head of the table, Zoey took small sips of her coffee and smiled at Eleanor.
Her smile seemed harmless, yet her gaze was like a venomous spider, spinning threads of poison that ensnared Eleanor tightly.
Eleanor sat upright in her chair, fully alert and prepared to face the situation.
Since it was a dinner party, it was inevitable to drink.

The principal raised his glass and toasted Elijah In an instant, everyone started drinking.
When it was Zoey’s turn, she looked at Elijah beside her and said apologetically. “Elijah doesn’t let me drink. You can drink with Eleanor She doesn’t have anyone to stop her like I
do.”
She gave an awkward smile, subtly hinting that Eleanor was single.
Everyone looked at Elijah, who was emitting a dangerous aura, and no one dared to provoke him.
So, they turned their attention to Eleanor.
Eleanor could drink a little beer, but she had never touched white wine. The mere smell of it made her uncomfortable.
She tried to think of an excuse to decline, but the man in front of her had already placed a full glass of white liquor in front of her.
You wouldn’t be so disrespectful, would you?”
“Eleanor, it’s fine. We’ll all be in the same circle from now on, so it’s good for us to get to know each other,” Zoey said gently as she sipped her coffee,
If she wasn’t affected, she wouldn’t understand the difficulty.
Eleanor pressed her lips together and glanced around.
The principal, already drunk after a few rounds of drinks, no longer paid attention to what was happening there.
Upon meeting Eleanor’s gaze, the others immediately turned their heads and started. chatting, clearly unwilling to intervene in the matter.
After all, the ones forcing Eleanor to drink were the three most influential people, the so- called seniors.
Not only were they well–known, but they also had fiery temperaments and enjoyed ganging up to exclude anyone who stood out.
Finally, Eleanor’s gaze landed on Elijah.
He drank his coffee lazily and looked up at Eleanor. His deep black eyes were filled with mockery,
Eleanor knew he was waiting for her to beg him.

But unfortunately, begging him would be the last thing she would want to do in her life.
She quickly averted her gaze, staring at the white wine in front of her, and tilted her head back to drink it all at once.
Elijah paused with his cup of coffee at his lips, his cold, stern presence emanating a cold aura.
However, the three men in front of Eleanor didn’t sense the tension in the air and laughed loudly.
“You drink so well! Come on, here’s another one. Drink it for me!”
“If you drank for them, you must drink for me too! Otherwise, it’s disrespectful!”
And just like that, Eleanor was forced to drink three large glasses of liquor in a row.
Her throat burned, making it hard to speak, and even clenching her fists tightly felt powerless.
Her cheeks were flushed, shining with an irresistible glow, making the men around her look at her like hungry wolves.
The three men in front of her looked at each other with lecherous smiles. However, since the principal and Elijah were present, they didn’t dare to go too far.
So, they planned to get Eleanor drunk first and then find some excuse to take her away later.
The man sitting next to Eleanor poured her another drink, casually resting his hand on the back of her chair. He rubbed her back in a slow, teasing manner.
“I heard you got second place in the competition. We should celebrate properly. Come on, let’s have another drink.”
Eleanor suppressed her disgust, shifting her body to avoid his hand.
However, he took the opportunity to put his arm around her shoulders, preventing her from escaping. Then, he leaned his greasy face close to her and grinned. Other than the smell of alcohol, there was also the strong smell of smoke
