Even though Eleanor couldn’t see the number, she knew who it was.
“Monica?” Eleanor smiled faintly
She knew there were not so many coincidences in this world.
Every time Jaxen was alone with Eleanor, Monica would call him.

Eleanor had changed into a hospital gown. The smell of soup on the dining table made her
sick.
Fortunately, she had been to this hospital before and was familiar with it
Eleanor eased out of bed, took a few steps, and opened the cabinet door. Inside, she found the clothes Lily had brought.
Then, she followed the cabinet into the bathroom.
She turned on the showerhead, smoothed her hair, and bent down to wash her hair.
But it was very inconvenient for her.

Eleanor sat up quickly, bumping the back of her hand on the sink in her haste.
Elijah’s voice was low and cold. “Why didn’t you all for help?”
Eleanor pursed her lips and remained silent.
Elijah’s eyes darkened at the sight of her stubborn expression.
“I’ll do it,” he said.
He reached out to help Eleanor up.
“No!” Eleanor exclaimed, pulling her hand away from Elijah. With forced composure, she said, “Elijah, please tend to Zoey quickly.”
The next second, Elijah’s breath came closer. He held her waist and said in a low voice, “Can you dodge it?”
Eleanor subconsciously grabbed his arm, but he tightened his grip and pressed her firmly against his chest.
His fingers trailed up her back, his hand moving from the small of her waist to her shoulder
blades.
Eleanor gritted her teeth in anger. She was already in this state, yet he still wanted to bully
her.
Is it fun to toy with her like this? Eleanor thought angrily.
Just as she was about to lose her composure, a numbness spread over her scalp as the comb moved slowly downward. When it reached the knot, Eleanor stopped it with her hand and then continued combing.
Eleanor was stunned.
A moment later, Elijah turned her around and pressed her back slightly.
“Down a bit,” he said.
Eleanor was powerless against him and could only look down.
At this moment, Elijah took her hand and placed something in her palm..
She was shocked and found it was his thumb ring.

Eleanor instinctively flinched as warm water soaked her scalp, worried it might seep into her
ears.
A large hand covered her ear, shielding it from the rushing water.
Eleanor was inexplicably dazed. She felt that the person beside her was not Elijah.
There was no way he could do this.
Just as she was letting her imagination run wild, the water shut off, and hands lathered shampoo into her hair.
His fingers tickled her scalp, making her feel numb.
Suddenly, his hand touched the place where her hair had been pulled by the three men.
“Ouch… It hurts…” she muttered.
Elijah pushed her hair aside and realized that her scalp was swollen.
His face darkened and he said gloomily. “Does it hurt now?”
Eleanor immediately bit her lip and stopped talking.
Elijah noticed her nostrils flaring as he leaned down, realizing for the first time how stubborn
she was.
Suddenly, there was only the sound of running water in the bathroom.
After washing his hair, Eleanor found the atmosphere unbearable and asked him to leave
