Eleanor turned around and left the ward. She picked up her phone and called the police.

Before she could finish speaking, her phone was snatched from behind her.
Eleanor turned around and met Elijah’s cold
eye
“Don’t call the police.” His voice was irrefutable.
Under the glare of the fluorescent light, his dark eyes accentuated his strikingly handsome yet dangerous face, exuding an icy, intimidating aura.

Elijah remained silent, his expression eerily calm.

She laughed at herself for overestimating herself.
“Okay. I won’t call the police. I hope you never regret today’s decision, Elijah.”
She snatched her phone back and walked into the ward, slamming the door shut.
Avery watched Eleanor leave and frowned as he stepped forward. “Elijah, do you want to explain to Miss Brown…”
“No.” After saying that, Elijah’s phone rang.
It was Zoey.
He narrowed his eyes and did not take it. He turned around and instructed Avery, “Continue doing what I told you to do.”
“Okay.”

Lily remained peacefully asleep, while Eleanor, exhausted, dared not close her eyes.
Suddenly, her checks burned and a cup of warm milk was handed to her.
She looked up and realized that it was Jaxen.
“Jaxen,” she called out weakly, her body feeling almost limp.
“Eleanor, what’s wrong?” Jaxen quickly reached out and held Eleanor.
Eleanor rubbed her head and said, “My feet are numb.”
“Eleanor. Sorry, I’m late again.”
Jaxen stuffed the milk into her hand apologetically.
Eleanor shook her head and took a sip of milk.
Jaxen stared at her for a while and whispered, “Are Logan and Lily alright? Elijah told Grandpa that they accidentally fell and injured themselves after drinking too much.”
Hearing this, Eleanor spilled more than half of the milk in her hand.

She looked at Jaxen in disbelief and said in a muffled voice, “Did Elijah really say
that?”
“That’s right. Tomorrow, Mrs. Taylor and Zoey are coming to the Davis family for dinner. My mother went to show Grandpa the menu for tomorrow, and he happened to mention it, so I rushed over.”
Eleanor wanted to pretend that she did not care, but she still lost her composure. Her widened eyes were cold.
The humiliation they suffered was not even comparable to Zoey’s meal.

strong.
“Eleanor, what’s wrong?” He held her tightly and patted her gently.
The comfort when she felt wronged was the most fatal. She could not even think, so she hugged Jaxen..

“Alright, alright. Isn’t Logan and Lily fine? Don’t cry anymore. I’m here for you.” Jaxen coaxed

Eleanor ignored Nick’s question and stated her purpose for coming.

After a long moment, he said hesitantly, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay.”
Eleanor took what she wanted and left.
Nick closed the door and immediately called Elijah.
Elijah, Eleanor came looking for me.”
“Okay,” Elijah replied softly.
Nick was stunned. “You figured it out it?”
