After Hank and the others speak up, Chris
and Barb’s faces pale. They look angry and
scared.
Chris glares at me. “Danny, you were raised
by the Callahans! How can you treat us like
this?”

“Mom and Dad won’t let you get away with
this!”
Barb says, “You’re already rich, why do you
need to do this?”
“You’re ungrateful! Nobody will ever work
with you. Nobody trust a backstabber!”
Chris and Barb’s words make the other
guests look at me differently.
That’s when Mikey finally speaks, saying,
“Dad, Chris and Mom didn’t take me to the
park that day!”
“They left me there. They didn’t say where
they were going. They came back a couple of
hours later…”
Chris and Barb look horrified.
“Shut up!”
“You little brat, what are you talking about?”
Chris and Barb hit Mikey at the same time.
Mikey starts crying. “I don’t want to be poor! I
want to go with Dad! Danny is my dad!”
“I didn’t understand back then, when I was
younger. After Mom and Dad died, I
overheard you talking…”
Before Mikey can finish, Chris and Barb cover
his mouth.
Chris bites back and says, “Danny, if you
don’t want to help us, that’s fine.”
“But if you dare to take us down, I’ll make
sure everyone knows you’re a bad person!”
Just then, I get a text from a private
detective.
I look at Chris and Barb, and I say, “Who’s the
bad person here?”
“Did you kill Mom and Dad?”
Everyone gasps.
Chris and Barb look even paler, trying to
sound angry. “Danny, stop saying crazy
things!”
“We’d never do that! We’ll sue vou for

slander!”
I pull out my phone and show the evidence to
Hank and the others.
They look at it and start cursing at Chris and
Barb.
Chris and Barb were together, and Chris
wanted to take the business from me, which
made him desperate.
So, Chris and Barb got help from Barb’s
family to cause an accident that killed my
adopted parents.
The private detective found the witness and
bugged Chris and Barb’s car, and finally got
the evidence they had been looking for.

When I show them all the evidence, the room
explodes.
Everyone glares at Chris and Barb, disgusted.
Chris and Barb want to deny it, but Mikey
breaks free and runs to my side. “Dad, I can
prove it! They killed Mom and Dad!”
“I heard them talking about it, also saying
something about his help from Mom’s family.”
Mikey tells everything, making Chris and Barb
fall silent.
Then Mikey gives me a sad look. “Dad, I’m
sorry for what I did!”
“I didn’t know any better!”

forgive me?”
I look at Mikey, and I sigh. “I forgive you!”
“But you’re wrong about one thing.”
“I’m not your dad. Chris is.”
Mikey is shocked, and so are the other
guests.
Hank and the others look at me, confused.
I say to Mikey, “Your mom had a thing with
Chris before we got married. You’re their real
son!”
“Why else would your mom divorce me so
fast? Why else would Chris treat you
Tast? Why else would Chris treat you so
well?”
“You did the right thing, you want an award?”
“That’s my birthday gift to you, do you like
it?”
Mikey shakes, looking at me in disbelief.
“Dad, you’re joking!”
I ignore him, turning to Chris and Barb. “All
these years, did you never tell him?”
“Or were you too embarrassed to tell him?”
“Afraid your own son would look down on
you?”
