Chapter 16
Two days before the wedding, James and leach returned to our own homes.
When he dropped me off, he held my hand tightly, as if I were his most treasured possession.
“Emily, we’re going to get married, right?”
I gave no response.
He reassured himself again: “Of course we’ll get married. We will get married,”
That night, however, I secretly returned to the house filled with memories of us.
I took away everything that belonged to me
I even wiped away every strand of hair from the floor.
I left only the pile of broken gifts he had given me, and the wedding dress I had slashed.
Along with the wedding planning journal and the wedding ring
Treally wanted to see James’s expression when he discovered I was missing at the wedding venue.
It must be quite a sight.
The day before the wedding.
