Seeing Paul starting to lose control, Billy sighed lightly.
Paul pointed at the picture in Billy’s hand.
“Mr. Sharp, Kyra’s abilities are evident to all. She has helped us a lot in the past. How many times has her portrait not been very similar to the criminals?”
air.
“You can doubt anyone’s abilities, just not hers!”
Billy opened his mouth as if to say something but ultimately swallowed his words.
Everyone searched for the person based on Kyra’s portrait.
But three days passed.
The case remained unsolved.
Paul smoked one cigarette after another in the lounge.
Until Kyra entered the room, he extinguished the cigarette and immediately went to open the window for fresh
Kyra looked at the floor littered with cigarette butts, walked over, and hugged Paul.
Paul’s stiff body slowly softened as he buried his head in Kyra’s shoulder, embracing her as if relying on her completely.
“Kyra, don’t say anything. Let me lean on you.”
Kyra’s body pressed tightly against his, an ambiguous atmosphere enveloping them.
A while had passed.
Paul spoke, “Kyra, you heard what Billy said earlier. Do you also want me to call her?”
Kyra’s expression was gentle.
She always had a gentle and caring demeanor.
“After all, she’s pregnant and your wife. You should call and ask. Yesterday, she was so angry, I heard the noise from the room, she must have broken something heavy. I’m afraid that a pregnant woman cannot handle something that heavy.”
Kyra’s expression showed concern, but every word hit Paul’s sore spot.
Even though I had told Paul countless times about my pregnancy.
He still believed it was a lie.
Indeed.
“Hmph, who doesn’t know her pregnancy is fake? We’ve been married for years, and she never got pregnant. Suddenly, when my parents‘ issue arose, she got pregnant. She doesn’t want a divorce and wants to keep me. A woman who loves to play games like her should just die!”
Paul kept on ranting about me, completely oblivious to the fleeting satisfaction on Kyra’s face.
The phone rang, interrupting Paul’s tirade.
“Recognize.”
“I… am…”
“Checkup?”
A momentary blankness appeared on Paul’s face. He hesitated for a moment, then quickly regained his composure, his face turning cold.
“How much did Lee pay you to make this call? Does she have any new tricks left, always using the child as an excuse? Does she think this will keep me?”
As he spoke, Paul was nearly roaring with anger.
The medical staff on the other end of the phone was very professional, maintaining a calm demeanor.
“Mr. Bradley, you can verify that the landline number I’m calling from is indeed our Rogers Hospital’s number.” “Your wife missed her prenatal check–up scheduled for this month by two days. We have been unable to contac her, so we had to look up the contact information she provided and reach out to you. Please let her know she needs to come in for her check–up as soon as possible.”
The call ended just there.
Paul’s face darkened even more.
Outside the door, Billy’s anxious voice rang out.
“Paul! We’ve made a significant discovery!”
“We found the victim’s left hand! It appears to have a tattoo on it, bearing your name!”
