Chapter 9
That man raped me, killed me, dismembered me, and took my phone.
Joshua was not aware of this matter.
He just told Dad with a cold face, “Willow wouldn’t even answer my calls, only to have her boyfriend tell me that she is sick of
us.”
His father was furious.
He slammed the table and cursed me as the devil.
Dad was a businessman and also a devout believer.
He likes Vivian because his business skyrocketed after she was born, and his assets multiplied several times in just two years. Vivian was his guardian angel.
In contrast, after I was born, his factory encountered a crisis and almost went bankrupt.
He, therefore, hated me and thought that I was sent by Satan, which was quite easy to understand.
Dad held the financial power in the family.
Therefore, Vivian could attend a private school that cost tens of

thousands of dollars per year.
Joshua could hire a tutor that cost $700 per hour.

As for me, when I was in university, I have to work three jobs to pay for tuition fees and other living expenses solely on my own.
For the next few days, I stayed in this house as a ghost, watching their everyday lives with a cold eye.
I watched as my mother called Vivian and asked her what she wanted to eat when she came home.
Vivian pouted and said as always that she preferred to have some seafood.
When my mom went to the market, she happened to run into our childhood neighbor who was out shopping for groceries with her daughter, Luna.
Luna Brown and I went to school together when we were kids, and later joined the same company.
We weren’t very close friends, but at least we were familiar with
each other.
My mom said with envy, “It’s so sweet to have a daughter like Luna, who helps you with the grocery shopping as soon as you come home. Unlike our Willow, who doesn’t know any better than to make everyone irritated. She didn’t even come home for her sister’s wedding and got her boyfriend to scold us.”
Chapter 9 “Eh?”
Luna was a bit surprised. “Auntie, Willow doesn’t have at boyfriend.”
My mom froze and looked at her.

“She’s been busy with the work in the marketing department, how could she have time to date?” she said, “And Willow cares about you a lot too. Last month when she got her bonus, we went shopping and she bought a gold bracelet, saying she’ll give it to you when she comes home for her sister’s wedding.”
The look of confusion only stayed on my mom’s face for an instant, and then her expression quickly faded into the familiar icy sarcasm I knew so well.
She said, “Willow only behaves well in front of others. You don’t know how she treats us at home.”
Seeing this, Luna and her mom couldn’t say anything more and politely said goodbye.
My mom bought a lot of seafood that Vivian loved and carried two bags full of her favorites back home.
Standing at the door, she took out her keys to open the door.
Just then, her phone started ringing.
It was my number.

“The suspect has confessed his burial site. Could you and your family come to Estremouth to help confirm the identity of the
victim?”
