Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Sparks landed on the stage and on the audience, but none landed on me.
Underneath the stage, I watched as Hadden gently wrapped Julia in his arms and slowly walked her to the limo. The engine started, and he tightened his hold on her.
“Thank you, Julia, for always being by my side.”
Julia smiled happily and hugged him back. Then, she turned her head to peck the tip of his ear.
“If you’ll have me, Hadden, I’ll always be by your side.”
A long time passed after the concert before it crossed Hadden’s mind to continue looking for me again.
He spent a lot of manpower and resources to look for me, even going as far as to spread the word to all his employees that anyone who found me or found leads on me would receive a cash reward. Anyone who managed to bring me to him would receive a house in the city center.
It was ridiculous, considering I was right here.
I made my way to stand behind Hadden and huffed a breath at his neck. It was starting to get frustrating how invisible I was.
“Why go through all that? You’ve already seen my body, haven’t you?”
One day after dinner, Julia pretended again that she was drunk and ‘accidentally‘ fell into Hadden’s arms. She began to tug at his collar.
“I want to stay by your side forever, Hadden.”
Hadden softly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes and tightened his hold on her.
“You will, Julia. You’ll always have a place by my side.”
She immediately wrapped her arms around his neck, her voice tinted with a flirtatious tone. “Really?”
Hadden nodded, his arms beginning to shake with excitement.
“Julia… I…”
“I love you, Hadden.”
“I love you too.”
I turned around before I could watch them kiss. I knew they had romantic feelings for each other, but I did not think I would have to see them kiss.
How indecent.
Like previous times before, I made my way to the light switch and pressed down with everything I had. I expected nothing to happen, but this time, the overhead lights switched off.
Hadden jumped at the sudden darkness and quickly released Julia.

He wiped off the lipstick around his lips, his eyes darting around the dark room with fear when he caught a glimpse of me.
Hadden staggered backward with a scream while I looked at him with surprise.
“You can see me?” I was about to take a step forward.
Julia had already stripped, and with a hand around Hadden’s tie, she moved to sit on him.
Suddenly, the lights were switched on again.
Both Hadden and I jumped.
What was going on? Was there another ghost here besides me?
Hadden had wet himself in fear, and he had Julia in a death grip. “Ah! Julia… Julia…”
Julia was terrified too. Just as she was about to pull Hadden to his feet, she looked up and met the eye of the policemen at the door.
