Stunned, I could feel tears rolling down my eyes once again.
I was sorry, Mom, Dad. I could only repay you for what you had done for me in another life.
Kevin had stayed up for a few nights in succession, so he was stewing in annoyance at the moment.

This was a gift given to me by Kevin on my birthday. He should be able to recognize it, right?
William approached Kevin and asked, “Is there something wrong with the necklace, Kevin?”

A policewoman glanced at the necklace. “Oh, that’s normal. That necklace’s design is extremely common.
Upon hearing her words, Kevin put down the necklace before moving to deal with other work.
I just chuckled coldly. Right, I almost forgot what happened that day.
Kevin and I went out for dinner on my birthday. While he had forgotten all about my birthday, the restaurant was kind enough to present me with a birthday cupcake.
After dinner, Kevin went to a random store and bought me a necklace, claiming that it was my birthday gift. He never put his heart into the gift selection, not to mention he didn’t care about me at all.
But I treasured the necklace greatly. I couldn’t bear to put it on if there weren’t any special occasions going on.

It seemed that I had overestimated Kevin’s feelings for me. Now, I could only hope that William could crack the case as soon as possible.
I no longer cared if Kevin would regret treating me like shit once the truth was exposed. Perhaps my soul would be free from him forever at that time.
Posting my characteristics on the news turned out to be beneficial for the police force. Many people had come to lodge police reports. Unfortunately, none of them matched my body’s DNA.
Once again, the case went into a stalemate.
William thought for a while before suggesting. “In that case, let’s change our perspective. We should focus on the bomb made by the kidnapper.”

He hurried to the prison with a few officers. There, he requested to meet an inmate named Daniel Jones. Before leaving for the prison, he had called Kevin and asked him to tag along.
Daniel was the criminal whom William had arrested a few years ago. Back then, he had robbed people with bombs which he had crafted on his own. The sentence he had received was a few years behind bars.
Kevin had attended the court hearing at that time. He was the forensic doctor in charge of the case, so he had produced many reports as evidence. That was why Daniel listed Kevin as one of his enemies after receiving the sentence.
The prison warden said to William, “Daniel Jones? He got his sentence reduced twice in a row due to his excellent behavior in prison, so he got released from prison last month.”
“He got released last month?”
Kevin exclaimed, “Do you know where he lives now? We have a murder case on our hands, and we think it’s related to Daniel.”
