One year later, preparations for Kevin and Violet’s wedding were in full swing. To be more accurate, Violet was the only one busying herself with the wedding preparations excitedly.
Kevin, on the other hand, threw himself into solving the cases. He spent every waking moment in the police station.
William was starting to feel concerned when he saw how much Kevin had been working. He wanted to tell Kevin to take a break, but the latter just shook his head. He continued to work with dead bodies and spent all of his time in the forensic laboratory.
I kept following Kevin around over the past year or so. As such, I bore witness to the way Kevin pretended to be normal during the day and cried over me while holding my photo at night. He kept alternating between confessing his love and apologizing to me.
But I didn’t react to any of the things he said. I didn’t even hate him at this point. All I wanted was to leave
him.
Unfortunately, I could never leave Kevin even after trying out various methods. There was a mysterious force that chained me to him this whole time.
I was starting to despair. Perhaps I was destined to be stuck with Kevin in this lifetime. Maybe I’d only regain my freedom once he breathed his last.
William decided to report Kevin’s condition to Chief Jacobson. As such, the police chief ordered Kevin to take one month off so that he could start focusing on the wedding preparations.
Violet had gone to the police station a long time ago just to announce her and Kevin’s wedding. After surviving the explosion that had taken place one year ago, she went to the police station and told everyone that she wanted to marry Kevin after he saved her.
As time passed, everyone started to think that the wedding was a good idea. Hence, they kept nagging Kevin to get married as soon as possible. In the end, Kevin agreed to the wedding simply because he was annoyed by all the nagging.
Naturally, Violet was elated to hear that Kevin had gotten a one–month holiday. She took him to the shopping mall early in the morning so that she could pick out his tuxedo for him.
Kevin wasn’t in the mood to go tux shopping. Hence, he let Violet do whatever she wanted to him.
At the same time, Violet had invited her closest friends to the mall as well. She’d be picking out the bridesmaids‘ dresses as well.
After everyone tried on their outfits, the ladies went to the washroom together.
My wandering range had increased a lot after one year. Even though I still couldn’t leave Kevin’s side, I could still move to other rooms.
I decided to move to the wedding boutique’s washroom as well.
The women were chatting among themselves. One of them asked, “Violet, can you recount the famous Incident involving you and your future husband? Some of us don’t know the juicy details of that incident It sounds like an exciting movie!”

Violet smirked haughtily. “Of course! My hubby saved me from Daniel! He even tried to sacrifice his life just to save me! How romantic!”
“It really is romantic! But how did you
get captured by that kidnapper, though?”
Violet huffed coldly at the question. “That Daniel guy was nuts! I already told him Michelle was Kevin’s girlfriend! If he wanted to kill someone, it might as well be her! But in the end, he came looking for me!”
I could feel chills traveling down my spine. No wonder couldn’t leave Kevin’s side at all.
The actual murderer was Violet. She was the one who told Daniel about my identity and my address. That was the reason why Daniel was able to kidnap me in the first place.
I returned to Kevin’s side in hopes of contacting him and telling him the truth. But my efforts would always be futile no matter how hard I tried.
That was, until I noticed Kevin tapping on a fortune–telling app. It was a simplistic app with bold letters written on the screen. It wrote, “Get your fortune told here at a 100% accuracy rate!”
Kevin just chuckled icily. After that, he keyed in my name.
The app took a moment to buffer. A short message popped up immediately. “She’s right next to you, read.
Kevin just shook his head with a bitter smile. He was about to close the app when I realized that I could actually control the phone’s keyboard.
I managed to type out one word with great difficulty under Kevin’s bewildered gaze. “Toilet!”
Of course, Kevin was quite surprised. He didn’t expect to see his phone automatically typing out a message on its own.
